If SMU gets booted from the playoffs,

People are also ignoring that if it's solely about TV ratings, the DFW market (where SMU is) is 10x larger than the state of Alabama.

It's about national ratings, not regional. It's about what the casual sports fan in markets like NY or LA, which are not CFB hotbeds, are going to choose to watch. Nationally, what is the bigger brand, Alabama or SMU? Most people don't even know what the hell SMU is or even stands for.

Who has TX or PSU beaten? I mean we know you don’t like TN but please tell us what win either of those teams have better than us.
Look how cute you are creating your own argument. I don’t remember them being in the discussion. They’ve both definitely had soft schedules. TX couldn’t even beat GA with a backup. Your arguing with yourself at this point.

I'd say the massive Dallas/Fort Worth media market cares more about seeing SMU in than Alabama. Prepare for Alabama fans to complain about media bias with the committee after they're left out.
lost to Vanderbilt - pathetic 3 points in loss to Oklahoma

Your hatred of Bama won’t let you be rationale. It’s less about bama and more about SMU. They shouldn't be rewarded for playing in that joke of a conference. SMU would be fighting to be bowl eligible if they played a tough SEC schedule. Ole Miss, Bama, and SC would all smoke SMU by 21+. I don’t like the idea of Bama being in either, but they’d be more competitive than SMU. SMU will be crushed the first real competition they play against.
The way Bama played late in the season. They would too. I guarantee you SMU would have played better vs OU and at least scored one TD. You can arge your opinion all you want. But, you have NO FACTS. It isn't about my hatred for Bama! It is about not penalizing an SMU team that won 11 games and at least played in a P4 championship game. Also, there two losses were by 3 pts. How many did Bama lose by against the 13th ranked team in the SEC???

I don't agree. We're a good team. Sure we might lose in the first round but we're capable of beating anybody anywhere.

Capable of beating anybody? I respectively disagree unless Nico starts throwing on time and in front of the receivers, unless Sampson quits fumbling on the first successful drive, we quit calling the same 5 plays, not having multiple drops against good teams, offensive getting too far downfield when the play gets extended.

These are things that we cannot correct for some reason. Sorry but that’s just the way it is. I watched several of these playoff teams and they appear to run 25 different plays on offense. That’s hard to defend. Our 5 plays are hard to defend if we consistently connect on the deep ball and we are not.

To be fair, I think the Computers would have Alabama in due to SOS. Alabama is 3-1 against CFB Top 25 while SMU is 0-2.

If we allow SMU or other teams in due to record, than what is the incentive in having games like Tennessee vs NC State or Alabama vs Wisconsin. SEC teams might as well schedule 4 Sunbelt/FCS teams.
You may be right. But, that isn't the way it is. You have 13 biased people making the decisions. That is the debate here. I am all for a 16 team playoff, no auto bids, eliminating the conference championship games counting to help or hurt the teams in the playoffs before the championships besides reseeding, and let COMPUTERS DECIDE THE TOP RANKED 16 TEAMS based on wins and losses, home and away, strength of schedule, and opponents strength of schedule!!!

We can argue this all day long. It settled now anyway. The teams SMU played with a pulse beat them. They struggled against many without a pulse. After this year what I’ve decided is 12 teams is to much in my opinion. Damn sure don’t need 16. Already to many in that have absolutely 0 chance.

At the beginning of the season I’d of agreed with you. Given this year not a chance. 16 is to many. 12 is to many.

Don’t you be going and using logic around here. It doesn’t bode well for the bama hatred crowd.
This isn't about hatred toward Bama. It is about a team with 11 wins that got beat by two ranked teams by 3 points, one in the conference championship not being booted out by a team with 3 losses that got CURBSTOMPED vs the 13TH RANKED TEAM IN THE CONFERENCE. By the way, that team also didn't reach the end zone ONE TIME!!! If it were any other team besides Bama, most would feel the same way. It just makes it better for us that dislike Bama that it is them. Especially after they have been the beloved and favored team by the refs and the commissioners for many years!!!
