"IF" this is true...OMG!

I've said this before and I'll say it again.....this interview was nothing more than a token interview so UT could say "we tried". They had no intentions of bringing Tee on board. Same with Harts call to Jon Gruden.

You don't know that. The biggest hurdle was the buy out in his contract that would have required him to be named as a coordinator. It is possible that Coach Jones didn't want to go that far and the AD couldn't afford a buy out for an assistant coach. It is also possible that T wouldn't accept a title without the actual authority/responsibility. Fact is none of us outside of the discussion know the intentions of either party.

It makes no difference to me that Tee turned us down---he has a job and is comfortable where he is...good for him. We move on.

By the way, Dave Hart has very little input on football decisions. We could have picked the guy up in a golden chariot and I believe he still would have made the same choice IMO.

Actually, this is a slap in the face of Tee Martin. Just think, a UT grad that doesn't know how to rent a car, submit the bill to the university for reimbursement, nor can find the AD or head football coach's office(s) on campus? A campus that he graduated from?

And we want this guy to knock on recruit's doors as a representative of the university?

You do remember all the talk of Dooleys office being MOVED to a NEW building just LAST YEAR.
Tee played here over 10 years ago, WELL before the new athletic facilities were even planned let alone finished and the coaches offices moved too.
So yah bashing a guy for not knowing where the new coaching offices are when he hasn't been here since the offices were moved is just another lame attempt to bash the guy for not taking the job.

OK Smartguy, the last time Tee was here, Fulmers office was in Stokely. Where EXACTLY is Jones office now? Which building? What floor? Which office on that floor?

Just reeks of "We don't care about you" or "We are asleep at the wheel"!

I agree none of us know for sure. That is my opinion but it was reported this morning the UT had agreed to pay his buyout. Also, it was reported on TOS that Tee "could" make upwards of $500K at SC, substantially higher than the UT offer. If they wanted Tee they could've have gotten Tee. That is my opinion and I'll stick to it.

They've also proven how Thrifty they can be and on a Budget.

Well A VISit from Tee Martin is always welcomed even if no job came of it.

I think he was told, "U-Haul yourself"

if y'all can make bad jokes, so can I.

I wonder if he Alamost took the job but it was the Dollars that held him back?

That would be a mistake with potential National consequences.

Make it STOP......

Unless somebody can work in Rent-A-Wreck and Kiffin in the same post.

so you're claiming UT offered more than SC is currently paying him?

Lol sorry wasn't concentrating with all the rental car company references. I'll go back and edit. Thanks for pointing out my dumbarsness.

I'm calling BS on this one. Tee had his new deal with USC in hand before he left LA and UT wasn't going to match it, it was almost twice what we offered. So I believe if there was any token interviewing being done it was on the part of ole #17.

UT should have Fed ex-quarterback all the steak he wanted and delivered him home. This is another of Dave Hart's f*** UPS, that he couldn't deliver the package.

This is kind of fun.

This may very well be true. I think he may wanted to stick it in ole Dave Harts face after the way he was treated last year. I can't really blame him either.

Right! They paid for his whole family to fly out from LA for an interview and forgot about transportation from the airport. Don't believe this one bit

You're nutty.

Do you actually believe that if UT really wanted Tee he would have said no? If they really let him fend for himself instead of rolling out the red carpet as the OP has suggested, they didn't want him. Do you think if a 5 Star recruit was visting do you think they would say "Just get you a rental and meet us at the football complex"?

And yes I may be nutty.

Obviously, you haven't heard about "cell phones" and/or "stopping and asking"...

In your world, ole Tee would have hard time finding a bathroom in Knoxville, uh? Especially, if one's been moved around the corner from where it was in the late 1990's... Better yet, hasn't there been new roads built since Tee was in Knoxville? Tee would be so confused that he would probably drive to Maryville, hired by Quarles, long before he could "find" the university...

I personally hope Tee has a lot of fun, makes boo-koos of money in sunny southern California, and never steps foot in Knoxville again. But, that's just me...
