If we lose to ____, Butch loses support

our D will be solid this year and keep us in some games. Our DL interior is the strongest its been in awhile and we have a little speed on the edge. Our lb's are thin, but AJ, Curt, Sapp, Brewer and a couple others can make plays. Randolph in the back makes a huge difference, and we won't have 4.7 40 guys back there playing on an island in a matchup against the other team's go to guy, repeatedly, game after game. Randolph will help Moore be more of a ball hawk, rather than having to play one man deep against 4 go patterns and try to guess where the ball will go.

Good post and fairly accurate, this year the struggle will be on offense and inability to score points...we will attempt many more field goals than last year with better results.....but it won't be enough to win SEC games

I'm expecting a tough season this year like a lot of us, however, is there a minimum level of success you'd accept? At what point if any would you lose support for Butch this year?

Or does he get a pass this year no matter what?

I've thought long and hard about this, and wanna hear other people's honest opinions.

It isn't going to happen, so come back in a decade.

CBJ can't be compared to CPFs or even Kiffins, so the only bar he has is Dooley. So many on here believe Dooley is an idiot, incompetent, worthless, etc etc etc coach. So CBJ needs to surpass what Dooley did each year. CBJ "Gets It!" According to so many so 7 wins shouldn't be an issue if that's what the bar is set at.

Dooley never lived the KY loss down, and his seat remained on fire ever since. I find it hard to believe that if CBJ gives UT its first 8 loss season in history he would be able to have this fanbase feel confident about him. IMO our first 8 loss season is WAY worse than losing to KY for the first time in 26 yrs.

I don't know how CBJ will do but no bowl game next season, and losing to KY/Vandy or a team like WKY, will not build confidence in this fanbase or recruits. I know many on here think I don't think CBJ is a good coach, but my concern is actually with how fast this fan base will turn with adversity. Just like with Dooley imo giving him the proper amount of time will be important. Just don't know if it can happen.

So many on here saw the shiny object that was Gruden and didn't see the good stuff from this past season. I saw a team, that yes had a bad growing pains on the D, but they worked hard and played full games. These players have done that, and so I believe they will do it for the CBJ too. We just don't know until the games are played. And even then we need to be careful with getting to excited cause it doesn't mean we r "back".

I love the people who bash me like this is my prediction. I saw this record posted on anothet board, and it hurt my heart. We should never be 3-9 bad.I simply asked a question.

I think we go between 5-7 and 7-5, and anything above 6 wins should earn Butch SEC coach of the year.

But, if we lost 9 games for the first time in our programs history, I can promise you that people on here would be pulling out the mattresses and lighters and calling for CBJ to be fired. I would have some serious questions about his long term success potential if that happened

Vanderbilt.. I really don't care how this next season goes, just don't lose to those azzhats again.. Lose to Kentucky, then fire him..
