If we lose to Vanderbilt...

If we lose to Vanderbilt, will you still say the coaches did a good job this season?

Push Poll Definition-

A push poll is an interactive marketing technique, in which an individual or organization attempts to influence or alter the view of respondents under the guise of conducting a poll.

Nope, just made an accurate observation. His poll was just a clever way to put forth the idea, his opinion, that this staff has been a failure this year. He may be right, hell I voted yes myself. But don't be fooled, he asked a loaded question that he already knew the answer to, to stir the pot. Read a few of his posts for context. He's more than entitled to do so, but I saw right through it. Seriously doubt I'm the only one.

A bit sensitive are we?

Keep telling yourself whatever you need to hear.

Georgia was a top ten team and top ten teams find ways to make drives like that. If that is going to be your standard then every coach in UT history, save for Neyland, has been an abject failure.

I believe in Jones (at least for now). I am still neutral on Jake. I am leaning against Jancek.

I am coming to believe his future success does not hinge on recruiting. He looks to be exceptional there. He has a personality that's magnetic to young guys.

I believe his success or failure rests on his ability and willingness to hold his staff accountable, correct them, and make changes as necessary. This is something that does and should happen behind closed doors. He would only set a coach up for failure by publicly questioning his performance... but I sure would like to know what he is privately saying to Jancek right now.

Exactly how I feel!

Think positive. We are gonna win out and keep the program moving in the right direction. Think positive. Go vols!

Vandy has a better QB, defensive line, linebackers, and wide receivers. I'm not sure how anyone can be confident in a UT win tomorrow. I think this will be a close game, but assuming neither team screws up too bad, Vandy will probably pull out a win, unfortunately. Dobbs still hasn't thrown a TD pass. Not good.

UT does not lose to Vandy or UK ever. How hard is this math. Last 2 years were a fluke.

No fluke? Great, tell that to vandy and ky fans. It happened, sweetie. Watch the History channel where the ancient aliens helped build the pyramids and Wal Mart.

If Butch wants to be coach here long term, you don't lose to Vandy or Kentucky and in Dooley's case he lost to both. Dooley was blown out in one of them and was beaten by a WR who was playing QB.

I realize I am a new contributor to VN and will not pass as one of our more intelligent posters. But I just want to know how anyone that says they are Vol fans continue to scrutinize, bash, and show no faith in our team. I will never say my team won't win a game! I DON'T CARE WHO THE HELL WE PLAY. I bleed orange. And if you think your going to change me...... I suggest maybe you possibly need to make a change. Either a better attitude or maybe a new team. I have never had the privilege to walk into Neyland and see my team play. And to think that there are those that go to a game and not think our team will win honestly disgusts me. Sorry if I offended anyone. I just don't believe in not believing. GBO

If the Vols lose, I will puke my big orange guts out. No matter how bad the Vols are, or how good the Commode Hos are, losing to Vandy is just unacceptable. Always has been, always will.

In that case, I will curse the name of Derek Dooley for at least a week. And I will be awaiting the arrival of the incoming class, and hope they can develop quickly.

I would appreciate it if you would stop trying to put words in my mouth.

If you have an instance where I declared this staff a failure for this year, please link to it. I do believe in holding coaches accountable and I have not been impressed by much of anything our staff has done since the South Carolina game, but I haven't made up my mind yet, nor have I given up on this season.

True, I probably won't declare a 6-6 season a rousing success, given the embarrassing performances we've had in blowout losses, but I don't think I could consider it a failure either, given that we would be bowl eligible with an upset win over a highly ranked SEC opponent, and that's some progress, at least.

But 5-7 with a loss to Vanderbilt? Yeah, I can say right now, I would consider that a failure. I've made no secret of that. It's public. You can see it if you click on the poll. I don't know where you think I'm trying to fool people or what clever ruse you think you've seen through. I asked a question and said where I stood. There's no rabbit in my hat.
