I was actually suprised you said this. I agree, unless one is clearly more ready.
Isn't really a jump to get to that conclusion. Having to play a 3rd QB is hardly unprecedented. I believe it's safe to say at that point that CBJ was more comfortable with Ferguson as his 3rd QB. Doesn't mean that he will be a month from now.
On the other hand, the notion that CBJ would tell any player - Dobbs in this case - that it would be "his turn" to travel a month down the road is silly, especially given the pitiful situation UT has at QB.
I'd burn both of them to keep one of them from transferring. That's just me though. Plus, you might be able to determine if one of them is a practice hero but gameday zero. People won't agree with that, but if Ferguson has a better week of practice, and you let him play, it would suck seeing Dobbs tear it up at some ACC school down the road.
what I would do is allow both freshmen QBs to play this year and release Peterman and Worley from their scholarships. Send the dead weight packing and focus entirely on the future. Figure out which of the two freshmen is better and focus on keeping that one as long as possible.
