If you aren't excited about where this program is going

Then check your pulse.

Thank you, but I will wait a few more seasons before I get real excited.

We been through two other coaches recently and I bought what they were selling and got excited, only to be disappointed.

I will wait until I see the results on the field, in a couple of seasons. 2013 should be around 6 -6 or 7 - 5. 2014 should be around 6 -6 or 7 - 5, then 2015, we will see what we really have in a team....

NEVER liked kiffin but I bought in completely with dools. Was one of his biggest supporters almost till the end, noticed I said almost. I think those of us that drank the doolaid had the biggest dissapointment last two years. Having said that im very excited about this year and the years to come. Don't care about being dissapointed cause im not thinking that way. Now believe me im not staying on anybodys bandwagon if the results dont come, not going through that again but there is nothing wrong with getting behind your team with enthusiasm and excitement. Isn't that the point of being a fan. Coach Jones get's it "GBO"

Not trying to be a downer, but wasn't it supposed to be a given that Butch was a good recruiter? In-game coaching was his big problem at Cincy, I support CBJ 100% and am pleased with what he's done. But let's try to calm down, and wait and see how things go in the ACTUAL season. With that said GO COACH JONES AND GO BIG ORANGE!

Please share the in-game coaching problems. I'm intrigued...

My biggest question with Butch Jones has always been the recruiting. And, while there are alot of good signs at the moment, I'll wait until signing day before I declare this class a winner. Let's not forget, we did finish 11th in the SEC and behind Vanderbilt two months ago.

No Oregon. We finished higher than Vandy on 247...... And, we eventually finished higher than Vandy on Rivals too after that 3 star qb decommitted from Vandy last month and signed with Princeton. I know it's just Vandy but you're the one wanting to make this comparison. Snakehead had 2 yrs to put together his class -- and after an historic season.... Butch had 2 months after the Dooley 3 yr disaster.

People who "get it" posses the ability to recognize other people who" get it". See Peyton's comments on CBJ.

Haha. Yes, couldn't agree more. Maybe we can set up a fan exchange for this guy til 2015. Maybe with Bama, that way he'd get real excited this year and we wouldn't have to read his negative posts. Win-win IMHO.

Once again, they are Vanderbilt. We are Tennessee. If you finish lower than them on any poll, you failed. It's that simple.

Adding another bammer to the board aint what I would call win-win.

I'm sure that has nothing to do with relationships. The whole previous staff pretty much stopped recruiting after the Mizzou game. Thats almost 2 months of no recruiting for UT.

Look at Ole Miss's class when Hugh Freeze first got there, he has one of the best recruiting staff in the nation and even he couldn't pull out a top 25 class.

The reason for that is because Houston Nutt was hardly on any big time recruits. The same thing when Dooley was fired and Jones was hired. He was starting from scratch.

Dooley closed so well when he was first hired because Kiffin laid the groundwork and had those kids seriously thinking about UT.

Nick Saban's only non top 5 class came his first signing day at Alabama when he was just hired. Alabama was ranked 10th. Saban is easily the best recruiter in the nation and had a national championship belt and he could barely get a top 10 class.

Its ignorant to blame Jones for the recruiting ranking last class.

Why you excited? All this rah rah chat getting to you? Why not wait and get excited once Butch proves he can win in the SEC. Here's a news flash for you...Bama and Florida fans are excited too....

There is plenty to be excited about. I highly doubt that you are not excited...not even a little? Come on. This "wait for the w's" stuff is boring and is simply a reflection of your fear based on the recent coaching woes. That is understandable but you don't look any smarter than the rest of us who are feeling the effects of a program rising. The fact is that Coach Jones IS already winning. There is absolutely no indication that he will not succeed at UT. Actually, he has given only positive proof that he will be an excellent recruiter, organizer, staff manager, team unifier, program spokesman, teacher, and motivator. Yes...we can wait for the W's to be excited...but why not enjoy the ride...the train has already left the station.

Words are words. I'm not easily steered one way of the other by propaganda. Sure, I hope the program under Butch Jones flourishes but until the man proves he can do more than tweet and make inspirational speeches I'm not going to preach to the rest of VolNation to be "excited". When he beats bama...I'll be excited. When he beats a Florida or LSU...I'll be excited. Until then, I'll not buy in to the rhetoric spewed by the athletic department to get you to go by T-Shirts and tickets. Results on the field will get me excited...and like all of you I hope that happens but until then...

Don't get me wrong, I love his optimism. However, if it wasn't for the fact of back-to-back fools running our football programs in the ground - we would feel better about Butch.

Butch has something that Lane and Dooley didn't have, and that was personality and passion for what UT stands for. In my opinion, those are the very attributes that I want a person to do leading the team, culture, and vision that I love about UT.

Thus, I will stand behind Butch and continue to support the program that I love. I just hope that what he does related to on the field, in addition to restoring the greatest college football team back to it's reign of success, which it righfully belongs.

Even more importantly, he has a winning track record. :hi:
