If You Can't Just Enjoy This

As frustrating as it was to struggle against the garbage team called Vanderbilt tonight, we should all enjoy the win! I will be at the bowl game, wherever it is! Looking forward to it!!!!!

He won 3 out of 4 by a td or less
Yes, and anyone that has been a fan for any length of time understands that no matter how bad Vandy is or how good we are this game is always close when its not supposed to be. The same can go for the KY game. If you go look in some of the threads about predictions and the thread I started asking the "what if" question, you will find that 95% of the replies predicted that we would blow them out and its was stupid to think otherwise. If anyone tried to temper the wild blow out predictions they (me) were accused of being the proverbial "negavol".

Honestly, if it weren't for the punt return we had a good chance of getting beat.

I predicted us at 6-6 or 7-5. I'm happy that we made it, but would have been happier with 7-5. Should have beaten the Gators! Depending on who we play in a bowl we're possibly 7-6. The team needs a rest and some key players are needed back.

Umm yes it will crowder will be back and the rest will get healthy

Crowder helps but even with this line at full strength, they just ain't gonna get the job done. We better hope like hell that Charles Mosley, Blair, and a stud freshman can come in next year and make this oline at least an average one or else were in for another year of the same and I don't know if Butch can survive another year like this.

The practices aren't just for th O-line and in any case, extra practices can't make them any worse.

Not to be too negative, but I don't think they are a bit better than they were game 1. In fact, I'd say they are worse.

The players we have will be better... We gotta find some true tackles

We have to pray that Coleman beats out Crowder at center and that Blair somehow does a 180 and becomes the LT he was billed to be this past year. If all we do is pretty much line up the same guys in the same spots next year we're in big trouble. Imo. Outside of Robertson and Coleman, who are young kids who will improve with time, theyre just not a very talented group.

Yes because there is no way this group will improve with more practice, experience,& strength & conditioning is there

I'm not sure the players we have now have the ability to get good enough. That's what I'm afraid of. Even if they improve, it will likely not be enough.

Vandie lost all of their other 7 SEC games by double digits. We were their closest game

Two of those "double digits" were 10 points.
So if we score 1 more FG, it would have been a difference in a "bad win" v a good win?

Are you a scout?

No I'm not. I'm just another Volnation expert. Do you have to be a scout to have an opinion? I'm sure your way more qualified to give an opinion than I am but guess what....your gonna get mine like it or not.

We've been living on ifs for too long.

Wuut???
I'm just not as concerned about winning by 10 instead of 7.

On a different note - Great thread Doyle.
You always said that you were a realist not negative.(and you were correct)
I hope everyone sees the difference now.
A realist is happy when we win, Negas....Well, I think the posts speak for themselves.

I'm glad for the seniors and fans.. Big step in the right direction.. I'm having a lil drink and shaking my head about how fast the season went by. Congrats to team 118 .. Hell of a show

I'm happy we won but some people seem overly concerned with how some people feel about the win. If 100 posters don't want to hoo-ray over a close win against a garbage Vandy team or do jazz hands about us making a participation bowl we may very well get blown out in then so what? Live and let live because I can see both sides of this debate.

Other than the extra practices, that's what I'm most happy about. One more game to get fired up about.

Oline concern for sure. I would think time to heal and time in the weight room will benefit those guys. They took a beating this year.

I'm going to enjoy this for a long time, but honestly boys, I think we really need a new Offensive coordinator. I thought the rhythm of our offense tonight was the worst I've seen in a while.

Who knows though, maybe we just need more quality offensive line play. Oh well..

GO VOLS!! We're going bowling!!
