If you could live anywhere...

I'd buy my own Caribbean island, install myself as King, create a Ministry of Party Affairs and make Monday mornings illegal.

Cuba fits my dream pretty well.

I'm biased because I grew up in East Tennessee but I far prefer Knoxville to Nashville or Chattanooga, mainly because of the Smokies and access to hiking / rafting / canoeing. Tri-Cities area would also be ok but perhaps a little harder to fly out from.

the Tri connects to Charlotte and Atl. If you can't get somewhere, it's your fault.

Pearl's old house.

I could hold sightseeing tours of the backyard and make a killing.

1) Chattanooga (called the Scenic City for a reason and tons of character/charm)
2) Knoxville (Big Orange Football and Basketball plus the Smokies)
3) Anywhere in East Tennessee in between those two cities
4) Nashville (Too much obnoxious fake country music for me, and the girls think they are way hotter than they actually are)

I like the Tri Cities (other than it's where my heart still resides) because it's big enough to offer all the city luxuries I want, but it's so easy to get away from it. Watauga Lake, South Holston Lake and Boone Lake are all very close by. So is Boone and Asheville. Plenty of places to sneak off to, but plenty to do in the area too.

I live in gray, just outside Johnson City. This is a very accurate description. Can't say a bad thing about this area.

Appreciate your input, what's your opinion on Memphis?

The thing is I have lived 30 minutes outside of Basalt, Colorado for all my youth next to Ruedi reservoir. The closest store of any kind was 30 mins away and anything like wal mart, target, lowes was an hour. Kind of sick of that and want to get closer to some action.

lots of action in Norris.....

Is Charlotte on your list for any reason that doesn't involve racing? I really like it, but I don't know that I can say best Southern City.

Charleston, Savannah, Boone and Asheville are the names that immediately come to mind for me.

I really like Charlotte as a city. The racing helps, but I've enjoyed every time I've visited the city.

I love savannah, just not sure if I would want to live there.
