If you could pick...

To put that in context, which apparently is unobtainable on this forum, my point was that a RB, (who at 190 was one of the largest players on the field in 1920) would need to have exceptional speed and athleticism at that weight to play in today's game.
To put it in perspective, he would need to be about 265 today to have the size advantage he had then.

You don't even realize how stupid you sound. You clearly stated he would have to run a 4.3 at 190lbs to play today. You clearly said that. We both gave you a perfect example of a 190lb guy who doesn't run a 4.3 who holds the single season record. So now you change your stance to...."he would have to weigh 265lbs".:eek:lol:

What was it you called me earlier? A liar? Pot...meet kettle

I am not sure whether the original poster meant former Tennessee players who, from a physical standpoint, are still young enough and in good enough condition to actually play, or whether he meant hypothetically teleporting any former Vol in his prime forward to the present. If the former option was his intention, I would say that Peyton, given his talent level and experience, would positively impact our win-loss ledger more than any other single player, simply because of our extreme youth and inexperience at the most important position on the field. If he intended to include players from any era, including the early Neyland years, then, as others have pointed out, you cannot discount the effect of current conditioning and nutritional regimens in producing superior physical specimens than they were in their actual playing careers at UT. If they were to hypothetically arrive on campus without those prior benefits, it would probably take longer for them to see the field, let alone achieve the physical capability of performing at levels comparable to those which they previously demonstrated.

Have to go with Peyton... not because he's the greatest of all time, but I just feel like quarterback is the biggest concern this season. 3 have never taken a college snap, and one limited playing time over a year ago.

I'd follow that with Leonard Little... need a pass rusher.

Al Wilson

Big Al could get the could get the whole team pumped up, of all the people I have seen play he was a monster.

As Rodney Dangerfield would say " he was so mean..... after he sacked the QB he would go up in the stands after his family"

Look son, you've dug yourself quite the hole. Just quit while you can. I'll gladly accept your submission and won't look down on you any more than I already do.

The bottom line is I chose Gene McEver. I'm sure many on here said WTF? Gene McEver. I'm sure many laughed and disagreed with it. But they simply typed their pick and moved on.

You on the other hand, have torn my pick to shreds, called me an *******, idiot, toothless, jackass and every other name in the book. Then to top it off you had the nerve to tell me I need reading comprehension. This after you read the thread title which CLEARLY STATES A PLAYER.....ONE PLAYER! So you chose 5......5! Then you tell me I need reading comprehension. Do you realize how INCREDIBLY STUPID and hypocritical that sounds. At the end of the day it's actually really simple. Every single negative remark you made towards me actually applies to you...............BRO
Once again you need help with your reading comprehension and apparently your mother isn't home from work yet. I didn't call you toothless, I stated I imagine that you are toothless if you talk to people in person the way you do online (you know, telling people to STFU because they disagree with your opinion). I chose 1 player, with a maybe on a second (Manning, maybe Shuler). If you can't understand the english language then don't get mad at me. What are you so pissed about? The fact that you called me out for not making a pick and then changed that to saying I made too many picks? Who is being hypocritical? You obviously have trouble with anything beyond concrete thinking. You have made up an imaginary player (McEvers, but put in a larger more athletic body) and now realize that your choice was not well thought out. I made no personal statement about you until your told me to STFU...BRO for the third time. Your angst and language tell me you are a person who has some serious perceived inadequacies that you try and resolve by being an internet tough guy with emoticans.

First off, take some anger management classes, BRO. Secondly, his genetics are his genetics, your suggestion that he would be bigger today is like saying Jordan would be Lebron's size if only he was born 15 years later. If your point is that if you could take McEver's heart and put it in Arian Foster's body, he would be great, then OK. If your point is that if you could take a relatively small white boy with good athleticism and put him in modern times with our current technology and make him into a star SEC RB, then I think you are delusional. I guess you think that a pair of Air Jordans and a thigh master is all that would keep Bob Cousy from taking Derrick Rose's starting point guard position.

Key word "genetics"

Since I just mimmicked the pick of EB, Im going to say my pick is Lamarcus Coker......without the drug problem of course

He made a terrible pick, but that's his right. He can make terrible decisions all he wants.

bobby majors was the slowest db we have ever had but somehow he was always in the right spot and could always return punts for big gainers

For me it is between Reggie White, Peyton Manning, or Chuck Webb. White would wreak havoc and destroy opposing quarterbacks, Manning would be the inspirational leader on offense and put the ball right in the young receivers hands. Chuck Webb would chew up yardage and take so much pressure off our inexperienced quarterbacks. I just can't decide.

I would definitely choose Crompton. We could use his strong arm and leadership skills this year, especially since we're so inexperienced at QB

Goodrich...thats one nobody has mentioned yet. Would love to have him back this year.

btw...Chavis was a player.

i will say Al Wilson because he would take control of the defense and make people accountable on the field. True leader not to mention he would knock your head off.
