2015 Alabama Played 9 and Won 8 AP Top 25 Teams (Includes SECCG and Playoffs)
2019 LSU had 7 total AP Top 25 Wins.
1998 Vols won 6 in AP Top 25 (Includes SECCG & NC)

If Vols go 15-0 then I would imagine 9 AP Top 25 wins in a season would be the all time record.

If you lose to Georgia you probably don’t get in the SEC championship game.

If you lose to Bama, your in the championship and you beat them once.

Title is “a game to lose”……..so I’d pick the first Bama game.

Tennessee would most definitely be in the playoff. Beat Georgia, only loss to Bama then avenge that loss in the championship game.

A close loss to Georgia and winning out to finish 11-1 could possibly get us in the final 4.

That would be dumb. You beat Alabama means you have a shot at the Big Prize. Furthermore you lose the rest of your games and you go from Contender to Pretender.

We won’t be in the playoffs imo if we lose to Georgia. Clemson isn’t losing, Michigan or Ohio State, USC and the SEC champ.

Clemson could easily lose a game, Michigan and Ohio State play each other, and USC already lost. A playoff committee comprised of humans could easily decide a 1 loss Tennessee with our crazy strength of schedule and quality wins deserves to be in the playoff. In fact, I would actually bet on it

I was thinking this too. With our strength of schedule if Tennessee finished 11-1 I think we would have a strong case to be a playoff team.
