UT needs talent. If this staff knows what they're looking at and looking for... I'll be happy to see them sign 3* players like Greg King rather than 5* players like Chris Donald. I know generally speaking there's more security with the higher rated players but there are no guarantees.

Some keep trying to play up a false dichotomy. A recruit can have both character and talent. If one guy is a little less talented than another but has stronger character.... take the guy with character.

You can't win if the talent gap is too great regardless of how much character they have. OTOH, the high character guys are more likely to be there when you need them.

There's no question. Your team is made or broken on how good underrated guys play that you bring into your program. Unless of course you are Florida and you just keep reloading with amazing players.

But we're talking about UT here and that's the way we build this program. We have good recruiters that can sell a vision and we will get the players we need to compete. It WILL happen. Everything else is still up in the air.

This is very true, but you take chances on the guys that will help your team. You can't be sure about everybody and kids grow up. Talent wins over character some of the time.

Ohio scored one TD on offense. It happened because Crompton threw and INT that set them up with great field position. They were completely shut down otherwise. The game was lengthened because Ohio threw the ball over 50 times.

I think it was fairly obvious that backups were playing a very significant portion of the Memphis game. That was pretty damning evidence of how severely our bench sucked, and a harbinger of things to come if we ever had to rely on them to win a game. See: Ole Miss, Virginia Tech.

Sorry but we need a top 10 class. A class that knocks on the door of top 5 is more like it. If we are going to compete with the big boys it has to be an absolute minimum of a top 10 class this year. We have no choice or we will be set back year in and year out.

We still have a lot of time left to catch up.

the difference between a 9th ranked class and a 11th ranked class is a 3 star player sometimes...

Dooley got like five 4 stars in 2 weeks on the job that had all but written us off, dont sell this staff short

go back to last summers mock classes by people here and then look at who people had on the radar then and who ended up on campus. we are a long way from signing day. stop sweatin it.

we are still tennessee, we have playing time to offer and exceptional recruiters.
