I did the math, CBJ is actually the second highest paid coach in the USA - PER WIN.

Bielema, 5.1Million, 3 wins, total of 1.79Million per win
Butch, 4.8Million, 5 wins, total of $972K per win
Mack Brown, 5.3Million, 7 wins, total of $770K per win
Saban, 5.4Million, 11 wins, total of $504K per win
Stoops, 4.7Million, 10 wins total of $474K per win

Texas fans really think they can lure Tomlin, Carroll or the Harbaughs from the NFL??

Hopefully they will instead lure Bajakian and/or Jancek from the best UT staff in America (although it would be preferable if UF goes after those bearcats).

Florida was a hospital ward this year, they will be back to 9 wins NEXT year. mark it.. I would rather have Ron Zook or Jim Donnan holding clipboards over there. We need TOTAL incompetence to compete with, not marginal mediocrity. :)

in light of the most recent rash of transfers out of gainesvile, i would like to revise my win total to 7 games next year. thank you for taking my call, i'll hang up and listen.

Texas has richest program in America, more high school talent than any other state, and a great city in state with no income tax.

They can get almost any coach they want.

Also their own TV network and and killer schedule with 6-7 wins guaranteed every year assuming they play up to 30% of their ability.

These mo************ are delusional. Seriously. What makes Texas or USC more special than us? They will end up with some half ass defensive coordinator from some half ass school. Seriously guys, why does everybody think Texas is a better job than us? Like so many people have said on here before, we were a team before they were even a state!!!!!!!!!!!!
And if not for a bunch of volunteers and Daniel Boone they would still be speaking Spanish in the lone star state.

Go look around the web at the Longhorns fan base and their expectations for a new coach. I thought we got pretty bad during the vacancy here but these guys....

Here are some names (or combinations that I have seen)..

Urban Meyer as HC, Muschamp as D-Coordinator.
Jim Harbaugh
John Harbaugh
Mike Tomlin
Nick Saban
Gus Malzahn
Pete Carroll
Jimbo Fisher

..note, they are referring to some coaches even after they signed extensions this year.

What No Gruden?! Amateurs! :birgits_giggle:

So it's all about money? That's bull s***!!!
They can pay 7 mil or more for a head coach and still have enough for a top notch staff of assistants. We can't. It makes a difference if you're going after big names. That said my guess is they will hire Kirby or a sitting head coach from somewhere in their region like Gundy or Todd Graham.

Surely Gundy won't leave OKS. I know I'm just a girl, and a lot of people don't take me seriously on here, but come on, I just don't see how Texas is even in our league.
