‘23 IL WR Carnell Tate (Ohio State commit)

It seems like we haven't recruited WR very hard this off-season. Yeah we got Bru.
Leacock has huge potential. He's the only real gamebreaker we have committed there.

We have good depth so it's fine I guess, but Tate is really the only guy the staff seemed to have went after with urgency.

It's not the greatest WR nationally this season, but there are some good ones.
Cam Seldon is better than any of them

When Innis and Rodgers committed to OSU, Tate’s NIL was watered down a bit. Tate reached out to Tenn staff almost immediately. Has been brewing for awhile, but not sure how legit it is IMO. Maybe letting enough time pass was part of a plan. A visit for a game would be interesting
That did it, I’m 💯 emotionally invested lol #Tate2DaHill 😊

I would love for us to flip Tate just to watch the butt hurt flow from the buckeyes. Would be pretty epic after what happened earlier in his recruitment. I'm all for it. Come on over to the orange side of things!

I doubt they would be "butthurt" as they have enough elite WR's to last for the next 3-4 years. Inniss and that boy from North Carolina (Noah Rogers) + another WR committment named Rodgers are all probably better than Tate.

Buckeye Fans seem to think he's just trolling our fanbase. If that was true would he be talking to coaches and our star QB? Not saying he is going to flip but things may get very interesting if he decides to visit.

Heard from someone with knowledge of the situation that Tate didn’t love the details of his NIL deal upon further reflection. If that’s the issue I assume he’s looking for leverage to rework it?

Hawes Fawcett stirring the pot now too

He committed and then arguably two other top 5 WR committed as well, so most likely his deal lost some $

Probably using TN to make Ohio St up their NIL deal for him but knows

Someone told him about the Mike Gundy strategy?

On the surface, I think this as well but I wouldn't rule it out of the realm of possibility that he flips. What happens this fall will be telling.

Also, folks. For the "eff him" crowd, this is an example of why we should exercise some emotional control and not respond like that when a recruit commits somewhere else. Recruiting is a fluid long game.
Hahaha.
Short stroke folks are what they are.
Everything has to go right and RIGHT THEN, or eff it all!
