‘23 IL WR Carnell Tate (Ohio State commit)

He can't run. He doesn't have a great deep ball. And apparently he developed accuracy problems when trying to operate as quickly as Heupel wanted him to.

I'm not sure if Bailey will find a place and develop into a good QB or not. But his skill set is better suited for an era of football and a style of offense that's past now.... which is one of the reasons Pruitt thought he was so great.
Mac Jones runs that era pretty well.

Weren’t that great the previous season. Statues like Brady and Manning somehow always had OL’s perform better for them. 🤔
Yeah they were both so good at modifying protections and recognizing coverages...You mostly had to beat Brady by rushing 4 and dropping everyone else in coverage, while making sure those 4 got there pretty quickly. Helped to have speedy line backers to cover the hot routes. Had to throw him off of his rhythm and hit him throughout the course of the game.

It sure is amazing how offensive lines can play consistently at an amazingly high level when they have incredibly smart QB's that can recognize defenses pre-snap, make pre-snap audibles and adjustments and then read defenses incredibly quickly post-snap and get the ball out quickly.

How is it throwing him under the bus to discuss the deficiencies in his skill set as they relate to UT's O and most O's across CFB? I don't think he's a bad guy or at fault for the toxic mess he signed into. But he wasn't the answer or anything like the answer.
He just didn't have what it takes in the SEC, at least yet. Took an absurd number of sack and fuble rates and the offense only regressed under him and that is vs JG's worst season, which is saying something. That said, he was only a freshman. But he did zero his sophomore year to change the narrative. It is what it is.

Imo but he always needed more of a slow developing, play action style offense. Don't think he was cut out to handle this fast and furious uptempo offense, which he didn't sign up for. Maybe he does well at UNLV and grabs a vegan (or was he just vegetarian) NiL deal. But I'm not going to cry over a midseason quitter either.

Someone said HB was a dink and dunker.

Though I disagree with that...myself. His ADOT was quite high his 1 year.
I said he was a dink and dunker. Being a dink and dunk guy in high school and having success is a little different thank dinking and dunking your way to 2 national championships, 3 trips to the SECCG, and a Heisman Trophy in 4 years though. One couldn’t get consistent snaps on a team with Jarrett Guarantano, JT Shrout, and Brian Maurer on the roster and the other is arguably the greatest college QB of all time

He also has the best offensive line in the game…

I don't think anyone actually believes the Patriots have the best offensive line in the league do they?

Cowboys line from last year? Browns? Bucs? 49ers? Eagles? Chiefs? Washington? Rams?

Patriots were above average and now they've traded away their best lineman for next to nothing.

None of their offensive lineman graded out below a 73 on the year….actually why am I arguing about the fact QBs like Mac Jones are a dying breed, when most of the QBs in the league have the ability to run out of the pocket. Im done with this convo
