I'll take our 2014 receivers over the 2012 receivers

I think if it's close you go with the younger, more talented guy, which either Dobbs or Fergy surely is ... Bigger upside.

Also, I think he has to not only factor in this year but next year as well. If it's close early, you have to believe that the more talented guy gives you more opportunity to win down the line. He also is gonna want an experienced QB heading into what will be a critical year 3 in his tenure.

If Worley doesn't clearly separate himself, which I don't think he will, you have to go with the younger guy IMO.

Dumb but sincere question. Patrick Ashford has been around a while. Looking at his picture as a holder recently. he seems to be built pretty good, more heft than any of the QBs. Yet he's not even in the conversation. Anyone has a real knowledge as to why? He got some O&W reps last year seemed to be decent at least. What's his strong points and shortcomings?

North
Pearson
Malone/Croom/Pig

over

Hunter
Cordarelle
White Lightning

Let's just hope one of these QBs can get the ball in the general direction

Without D Rogers, yes. With D Rogers... not quite yet.

Just a feeling here... but I think missing this spring is going to hurt Pig alot. He may never be able to work his way past some of these other guys.

I didn't see that speed you are talking about. He was constantly left one on one and didn't get much separation. I can see why he wasn't heavily recruited. To be honest he won't see the field next year.

I know this is a little late to call you out. And I am by no means questioning your football knowledge...BUT... You're joking me, right? Do you understand the importance of route running? Josh Smith was open often, 100% in part because of his route running. This helps him get enough separation needed. Also, this creates the busted coverage you are talking about. Josh Smith will see playing time. And it will increase over time and he shows he has gotten past his drops. Book it.

Crazy to think Hunter, Patterson, and DaRick could've been on the field at the same time. Crazier to imagine how a coach loses consistently with that kind of talent. Bat $#@& crazy to compare NFL WR talent to kids in college and take the non NFL players.

C. Patterson is a once in a lifetime type of talent.

He absolutely is, but the case can be made that he was drafted as high as he was based primarily off his GOD given abilities & return/running abilities, and not necessarily his skills (at this point) as a WR. As crazy as the thread title seems at first glance, I don't know that it's particularly far-fetched at the end of the day.

CP was an amazing vol. I only wish he would/could have stayed longer. I will consider us lucky if any of our current receivers are half as good. Not to mention the other bad asses that are being discounted.

It is not a question of who is better, but whether our current receivers can fill those shoes. Offense was not the problem when CP, Hunter, Rogers, etc. were here

....since these guys have proven so much. I think I'll take the guys currently on an NFL roster over guys who haven't stepped foot on the field in 2014.

you think that Worley will be running better this year ?

I would like to think that he will be. Last year, he ran more as the season progressed, to pick up a first down or two. Surely the more successful runs that a guy has, the more confidence he would have to attempt it, now and then.
