Illinois parade shooting spree

Either that or at least he would have been far less effective.

That is what I always find to be hilarious about the claims about "he could use a knife" or "he could use a hand gun." In a scenario like this one, none of those is going to kill nearly as quickly as an assault rifle.
Bullsqueeze.

That isn't an answer. WTH does "similar to an AR15" mean? A Roman Candle is similar to a 60mm mortar bust isn't one.

They know exactly what weapon was used.

The least number of shots I have heard so far is 70, but this said 83.

You think a guy with a handgun could have gotten off 70-83 shots from the roof in that timeframe?

Your ignorance prevails again. Hell they make drum mags for a Glock 43X. That may not be what he used but you stating it as impossible is another ignorant assertion.

The ones at public events like this, with no rational motive, do. Uvalde. Pulse. Boston. This one. And in and on.
Rifles account for a very small percentage of all hun deaths in the US. The 50+ that died every weekend in Chicago are from pistols.

Highland Park shooter Robert Crimo’s Bizarre Obsession with the Numbers 4 and 7

The accused Highland Park gunman was bizarrely obsessed with the numbers 4 and 7, which are the date of his massacre when transposed, police said Wednesday.

The suspect — whose alleged rampage at a Fourth of July parade in the Chicago suburb Monday left seven innocent people dead and dozens more injured — also reportedly used the name “Awake47” for an online forum where he and others regularly posted images of the aftermath of violence.

Crimo’s obsession “apparently comes from music that he’s interested in,” Covelli said.

Officials didn’t elaborate on the numbers’ significance, but there is a well-known time signature “7/4″ used in songs such as Pink Floyd’s “Money” and Alice in Chains’ “Them Bones,” according to the website stereogum.

Some observers on social media also noted the similarity between a photo of Crimo in a dark suit and red tie that resembled “Agent 47,” the fictional protagonist of the Hitman video game franchise.

Ok so what is the consensus on what he used? They said it’s a Smith and Wesson so about all they’ve got is an M&P 15 right? Do they even have other offerings?
