Huh? What does God fearing have to do with the impact of a conference championship? This statement made more sense in your head than it does in a post.I really hate the conference championships won part. Is a conference trophy supposed to be Tolkein’s ring of power or Marvel’s Infinity Stone? Maybe to some lunatics, because it’s 2023 - but not to a god fearing man.
All a conference championship is supposed to mean is that the two most successful teams will be forced to play at some point during the season because the conferences consist of more teams than there are games in a season. Every team in a division is meant to play one another, else the championship game can be pointless. A conference championship does not decide the best team in a conference. It’s just a mechanism to settle a potential debate. Some years there is no debate, which means that some years the conference championship is meaningless.
Well the last 2 years don’t matter, only the results this year. UGA had the worst SOS of all the contenders entering yesterday. They did get a boost from playing Bama but here’s who they’re up against:How does the #1 team in the country for better part of three years fall to #5 after losing close game to #8 team? As much as we hate them if it was us in UGAs seat, we would be furious not getting in. Facts are facts both ways. If we beat USCe last year should we have made the dance? Take emotions out of this. This is why at least 8 team playoff is needed. UM vs TX and Washington vs FSU and Georgia and Alabama both would beat all four of the others.

13-0, ACC Champ FSU. If FSU had a loss then maybe you take UGA but not with FSU undefeated.
12-1, Big 12 Champ Texas. Record-wise they’re the same. Texas win their Champ game, that’s a minor edge. The bigger edges are Texas beat Bama by 10 at Bama while UGA lost to Bama on a neutral field. Also, the Texas SOS is 13th while UGA is 37th. You take Texas.
Ah. So you want participation trophies for things that didn’t actually happen instead?Texas won early in the season, doubt that happens today. By the way Georgia Tech fiinished 4th in the wannabe league. I am just advocating for the best 4 teams now, not what happened in September. If you think Ga and Alabama aren’t in the best 4 in the country, we’ve been watching different games. No participation trophies for accomplishments in the first 3-4 games of the season. Colorado was 3-0 during that time period.
The ACC did well against the SEC this year.I don’t believe any rational analyst or college football fan thinks FSU beats UGA or Alabama.
The ACC is laughably weak.
If it’s a no sec playoff, then it will be Michigan vs Texas in a compelling natty and I’ll take Texas.
If it’s not I see a Texas vs SEC natty in a toss up
The best way to send that message this year would be to put Texas in over Bama. That big OOC win has to mean something to Texas. Otherwise, why play a game like that? So I’m with you on rewarding good OOC games and punishing poor OOC scheduling.Yeah but I a constantly repeating this but I would have loved to see the committee take into account OOC games and dump on Michigan for playing that sad OOC schedule. Same with Georgia had they been in the mix (they are not).
