I've put my reasons why I think this team will be good this year. I have stated that I think or know they underachieved last year. I do not think nor have I said CPF is the only coach to win a NC. You read reports and see the negatives and that is your option. I read the reports and see the players interviewed and see fire in their eyes. I think they know they underachieved and they are mad about it and I think a little embarrassed. CPF has taken responsibility so many times, he even went so far as to write a letter of apology to the fans for goodness sake. He has made staff changes and reports coming from practice are good. I think all the changes made by the staff and changes made in attitude by the players will result in a much better product on the field. I do not accept losing seasons at UT. As an Alumni, donor and fan I expect more. I just think we will see it this year. If we don't then changes can be made without me getting upset. I'm not a knee jerk reactionist. Even if we do lose the first game (I don't think we will but could). The season and program is what I am concerned with. I am all VOL always have and always will be.
If you can actually figure out how to do that i want to invest. It'd make billions.
You gripe because you don't get information due to closed practice. You would gripe if the kids didn't answer and now you gripe because they do answer.
Beef I just want to know if you went to a practice or a srimmage???
If you did I believe that you would have some reservations with how the offense will perform.

Wrong! Particularly after a season like last year, I would like to see the players not do any interviews whatsoever, and I would actually prefer if that was a policy that the team's leaders imposed on the team as opposed to the coaching staff. This team needs to have an attitude that they're going to work their butts off as a team, and do all of their talking through their play on the field. You guys that go nuts over every little quote that comes out crack me up.

Oh and you want to see them do it on the field? Then why not let them get to the field before you bust on them?![]()
Why not let them get to the field before you start heaping praise on them?Remember, their last performance ON THE FIELD was getting embarassed by Vanderbilt. They've yet to show anything on the field worthy of praise.

Yes.Also for what it's worth, Cutler is far out performing Young, as far as rookie Qb's in the NFL go.
How about all of them? :lolabove:So, which of the following observations do you dispute?
Maybe you heard wrong? Or perhaps didn't want to hear anything positive? It sounds much worse than last year to me. I've heard about a piss poor offensive line that doesn't do a good job of run or pass blocking. I've heard about wide receivers dropping a lot of passes. Last year we never heard about the wide receivers dropping passes in practices and scrimmages. We heard nothing except how great our wide receivers were right up until the point that they proved to all of us that in an actual game they couldn't catch a cold. I've heard about a lack of depth on the defensive line. I've heard about Ainge continuing to look shaky in practices and scrimmages, yet still being the best option available. When you combine those things with an unproven group of linebackers and a secondary that all of you seem to think is great despite the fact that it's basically the same group (minus the best player) that got shredded by even some mediocre passing teams last year, I'm concerned.
He posted last night, don't remember which thread though.
What I would like to see is a graceful acknowledgement that the comments about UT having no talent and that talent couldn't be turned around in one offseason were absolutely untrue.
