I'm sorry and you will probably kick me off the thread!

I had a ton of respect for Bryce Young before Saturday, and now have even more. He's a warrior and a competitor, and hung in there with all the abuse our D was inflicting on him and never complained or bitched. He and Hooker put on a show for the ages on Saturday, and it made the win even sweeter that we beat them with Bryce at his best.

The pathetic, spoiled, whining, sniveling Alabama fan base doesn't deserve a class act and competitor like that kid.

Since we're claiming political snubs

Jim Brown deserved 2nd in the Heisman to Majors rather than 5th where he finished. They both played 8 games that season (Majors missed two with an injury). They had basically the same total yardage just over 1100 each, and Brown had 2 more touchdowns, 14 vs 12. But 20 percent of Brown's yardage (over 200 total) on the season and almost half his touchdowns (6) came in the season finale against a very overmatched Colgate team. Tennessee was 10-0 when the Heisman was awarded. Syracuse wasn't unbeaten. Both Majors and Brown played defense. Johnny also kicked and averaged 43 yards per punt. He called every play in the huddle, he threw all the passes, he had the most carries. He had a 69 yard punt in that game vs Georgia Tech in Atlanta as the Vols held onto a 6 point lead and he also had a beautiful pooch kick that pinned Tech at the half yard line.. That game was considered one of the greatest games of the 1950s and Johnny was the best player on the field. Most thought it won the Heisman for him but they didn't account for the Hornung robbery.

Tennessee only allowed 7.5 points per game, 88 total points on the season. However, 40 of those 88 came in the two games Johnny missed. That's how much impact he had on the game via punting and his defense. UT averaged 25 ppg on offense. Syracuse averaged 25 but almost half their points on the season were against Holy Cross and Colgate. where they scored 102 points out of 230 total on the season. We had a common opponent in Maryland and beat them much worse than Syracuse did.

I saw the game and am a diehard Vol Fan even before'98. I hate Bama with the best of you, but . . .I respect Bryce young. He proved he's a man with his toe to toe passing and his ability to take hard hits. Yes, I hate the rest of the team but I would vote a tie between him and Hendon.
You lost me at “tie between him and Hendon”
I thought BY was impressive, but HH outperformed him, stats only tell part of the story. The scoreboard matters and HH lead his team to the tying TD and winning FG when it mattered.

The only drawback for Hooker is all the other QB's have more opportunities to impress! I mean Hooker comes on and only spends 1 or 2 minutes on the field and then it's TD and to the bench!

Nothing wrong with recognizing the skill of other players. I agree, his performance on Saturday night was simply a thing of beauty......just glad that the last series he ran out of gas..... :)

He actually had a phenomenal performance. His awareness, elusiveness, and decision making are on a level I'm not sure I've ever seen in CFB. A bit sleight in stature, but I bet every NFL team is trying to figure a way to land him.
Glad we got to see his skill .... come up short!

After due consideration? You need to be kicked.
