Imagine Heup's Record if...

You do realize that Georgia had substituted with about 20-23 secs still left on the play clock and the ref stood over the center for 17 secs iirc. No one to blame on that but the coaches.
"A lot of people say, well, they say you have to sub in three seconds," continued Smart. "No, you have to start the substitution process in three seconds. That's how long you have to start the process. But it doesn't say once you start the process, you can go at a snail's pace off. They give you a reasonable amount of time, and they give you an opportunity to snap the ball. So that's the rule. If somebody subs with ten seconds left on the shot clock, they're probably gonna get a delay of game if somebody tries to sub on defense. But if they do it with 20, there's reasonable time to sub."

Facemasks aren't reviewed...Beck was clearly in motion, clear miss if you ask me, but there were 12 men on the field on . We have been milking that for a while and they've let us get away with it by just slow jogging (at best) but there has to be consistency in how that is called.

To me the sports fan world is ref complainers and non ref complainers...same people think their team got the wrong end of the stick in every game. And then there are the next level people who see absurd conspiracies. The first type is tiresome but the 2nd group should be laughed at.
I'm pretty sure they looked at the scrum where the facemask penalty was called. Then still called it.

that’s not the precedent though. Unless there’s been some press release stating they are changing their enforcement of that substitution rule that I am unaware of, it’s not been enforced that way until that specific play. That’s a strategic move that has been used many times by multiple teams all year long and in previous years over and over. So for a ref to suddenly choose to enforce that differently is unprecedented.

And there is no 3 second rule that they referred to. As stated earlier itt, the 3 second rule applies to how long you have to choose to substitute before the ref comes off the ball to start play. They satisfied that rule.

Everyone itt arguing about that please watch Heupel’s reaction in that video and then tell everyone he is also wrong about the interpretation or enforcement of the rules. I wholeheartedly agree with him.

What exactly are you complaining about though, you’re not making sense? The penalty was for 12 men on the field, which is reviewable. It had nothing to do with 3 seconds anything. Regardless of who said what, subs were made and plenty of time for both teams to get on and off the field was had. We managed to get one defender off a full 6 seconds ahead of the other I believe because he just stood there. Had it happened the other way and Heup asked they could have reviewed as well. I don’t pay attention to the talking heads on the screen as they’re wrong as much as they’re right.

Additionally, there was a clarification last month on substitutions but I believe it only involved within the final 2 min of a half and the optional reset of the play clock.

there isnt a time limit for substituting. That’s the point.

Of course there is...it's subjective but it is defined by the "reasonable amount of time" standard. If not then any offensive substitution would equal a delay of game on offense. You see how that doesn't make any sense, right?
You can go by the amount of time that same ref has spent holding play for substituting players.
The smart people who have too much time on their hands say that he was 5 seconds under his average on that play

He didn't also have to beat the refs?

2021:
Record: 7-6
Losses: Florida, Alabama, Georgia
Losses because of Refs: Pitt, Ole Miss, Purdue
Revised Record: 10-3

2022:
Record: 11-2
Losses: Georgia (rain), South Carolina (Michigan scouting, and the linebacker sabotage)
Revised Record: 11-2 (He was able to beat the refs this year)

2023:
Record: 9-4
Losses: Missouri, Georgia
Losses because of Refs: Florida, Alabama
Revised Record: 11-2

2024:
Record: 8-2
Losses because of Refs: Arkansas, Georgia
Revised Record: 10-0 (and probably ranked #1 in the country rn)

Heupel would easily be 42-7 (.857 winning percentage) at UT (with 2 easy wins upcoming). Because of SEC refs, he's 35-14. Imagine the boost to recruiting and resources. He'd be on the cusp of a Saban run.
What if Heupel never lost a game? That would be gnarly brotha!!!
