Indigenous Marchers, Covington Catholic HS, and Black Israelites preachers = a buffet of media mess

That's Don Shipley - former Navy SEAL. He and his wife have made names for themselves exposing phony Navy SEALS in these type of "stolen valor" videos... Some of them are pretty funny. He is good at cutting frauds down to size. The Native American guy is saying that he is from "Vietnam times" which is code for "I served in the early 70's but not in Vietnam". Yes, the guy has embellished his record. Blast away...

I just watched NBC news. They are still trying to get the blame attributed to the kids. They never ask the instigator chief bull **** why he instigated the confrontation. They don't place any blame on him where he was 100% responsible for the whole episode. The gullible libs just eat it up and don't question it. I can't believe how stupid they are.

I can. In fact, I’m not the least bit surprised.

I don't care what the guy's rank is and he didn't claim to be a Vietnam Vet - CNN f'd that up. I'm not going to criticize Phillips for those things. I will criticize him for completely misrepresenting the situation though.

That said, the clip from CNN (I've never seen) is so wrong about the situation it's no wonder they've been trying to backtrack. Wow.

Bomb-boy in reverse.

It was a rush to judgment... not necessarily an integrity issue.
Rushing to a conclusion you want rather than checking the facts first certainly smacks as a lack of integrity IMO. They put their own interests before the truth and villainized a group of kids. What is that if not lacking integrity?

He said he was from "Vietnam times"... that sounds like he is trying to embellish his service without actually lying. CNN should have verified the extent of his service but he was trying to deceive them.

Some of the responses to this tweet View attachment 190702

Speaking of, this is going to air in the morning.

Nick, wearing a "Make America Great Again" hat, stood opposite Nathan Phillips at the Lincoln Memorial as his classmates chanted around them.Nick is a junior at Covington Catholic High School.

"Do you feel from this experience that you owe anybody an apology?" Guthrie asks Nick in a 30-second clip of their interview, which will air tomorrow on the "Today" show at 7 a.m. "Do you see your own fault in any way?"

Nick responds by saying: "As far as standing there, I had every right to do so. I don't – I – my position is that I was not disrespectful to Mr. Phillips. I respect him. I'd like to talk to him. I mean – in hindsight I wish we could have walked away and avoided the whole thing."

•So the story has to say wearing a Maga hat. Which is complete BS.

• Standing opposite of Phillips? What was he suppose to do, the old man walked up to him, again because he and his group was wearing a Maga hat.

•What kind of question is do you owe anybody an apology? For what? Wearing a Maga hat? Standing at the Lincoln Memorial?

•Do you see your fault in any way? I hope he says "yes, I should have stuck to Karate lessons when I was 6 so I could've diffused the situation alot quicker."

I'm watching to learn the rules of whataboutism Great Master

Whataboutism was a big catchphrase that found great popularity in the summer. If my memory serves me well, Mick and BB liked it the most.

When someone called out whataboutism the other person was supposed to drop any reference to consistencies or standards. The purpose was to shut down debate.

I was being generous - the guy in the video was critical of the military record since the guy was an electrician and discharged as a private. Irrelevant to me. I have plenty of problems with the guy's narrative; mostly his recurrence of events over the weekend.
