Just listened to 3 hour lunch with Clay Travis and they had an insider on from orangebloods.com who was close to the situation regarding a&m moving to the SEC. He said it was OVER a 50% chance that they would be moving.

Now we know this has been discussed alot, but now that it looks more likely, could this be a good thing? Bad thing? Will it just be another SEC team to compete for recruits with?

What are some thoughts?

More than 50% chance it will happen... next season? within 5 years?

non-story at this point, IMO.

More than 50%? That kind of inside info should not be given away. -TOS

Are these supposed to be super double secret talks because I thought this would be a bigger topic in the media.

Who else would we bring in?

They talked about the possibility of the SEC being at 13 teams for the time being with them. Which would mean the West teams would have to drop an out of conference game.. So I don't see how that would work? I feel like they would need another team to join. JMO

I've only heard on here and sports talk. Who are they looking at to take us to 14?

I haven't heard anything as far as numbers, but I would assume if we take tamu then we would take another. i heard some craziness this morning about the sec wanting to go to 16, but I have a hard time believing it.

I just hope it wouldn't cause Santos to change his mind and choose A&M since he would have the luxury of playing SEC level football in his back yard

I dont like it.

The only thing A&M brings is a bigger footprint for the SEC and gets them into the Texas market.

Personally I like it how it is, I could do without Vanderbilt but getting bigger just doesnt appeal to me. The rivalries are what make this league and potentially pulling Bama off our schedule does not make me happy.

I could see A&M and OU joining the SEC within the next 5 years. Everything Tejas is doing seems to indicate they want to be independent.

I have nothing against A&M but i dont want any SEC expansion. This league is already tuff enough to win. Adding teams does nothing but make it tougher. It also will just dilute the great history of the conference and the long history between teams.

Your spot on, unfortunately it is all about the mighty dollar.

Oklahoma is wanting in the SEC? I personally don't think Oklahoma is regionally relevant to the SEC.

Think about it this way. If we've got a team from the state of texas, then having a team from oklahoma wouldn't be that far off. Personally I would love to see either clemson or bring GT back to the sec.

Take it with a grain of salt. Clay Travis "broke" news that UT would get major penalties in football
