Insider on a&m situation

Oklahoma is wanting in the SEC? I personally don't think Oklahoma is regionally relevant to the SEC.

I don't know if they want to or not. I'm just trying to connect the dots based off what Texas is doing. If Texas ends up being independent than I could see the SEC scooping them up since they are a tradition rich school.

Regionally, I think they would fit just fine. They are on top of Texas (A&M) and right next to Arky so it would expand the SEC footprint further West.

The sec is essentially a business. Nothing wrong with expansion as long as its done right.

Disagree. Nothing wrong with it if youre just a fan of the SEC and not a fan of a team in it. Its good for the money hungry powers at the top. Not good for the actual teams. This is already the toughest league in the country, it doesnt need to get tougher

Think about it this way. If we've got a team from the state of texas, then having a team from oklahoma wouldn't be that far off. Personally I would love to see either clemson or bring GT back to the sec.

I think Miami, FSU, GT, or Clemson would be real neat. However, I would imagine if we bring any of these schools in they will instantly drop to lower SEC. Except FSU, they may actually accumilated some talent since the coaching change.

Not trying to go all conspiracy theory here, but maybe he knows the other conferences plan to expand. PAC 12 really wanted to go to 16 teams. Maybe he wants to do it before they do. The SEC has benefited greatly by going to divisional play before anyone else.

Could be, just hate to think of how it could totally screw up conference play.

This is the future. 6 major conferences. Top seeds get bye. 2 more games decides national championship.

OU and Texas will always be in the same conference.

Rumors Ive heard, Texas may go independent since they have their own network, and most other teams in the conference being jealous. Some have said thats why there are rumblings of the Big 12 being non existent.

I haven't heard anything as far as numbers, but I would assume if we take tamu then we would take another. i heard some craziness this morning about the sec wanting to go to 16, but I have a hard time believing it.

Why? Then 4 team divisions creating the first playoff system. SEC ahead of the game again and more money.

I hadn't thought about that, but I would think we would keep it two divisions like it us now and the east and west won't meet until the seccg. Of course the is just my opinion.

*except for 1900-1996.

Exactly.

A&M will happen IMO - and they are a good fit. That leaves OU, OSU and Mizzou as possible candidates to also join. I don't see us going hard at the ACC unless it is a Virginia school.
