Insider on a&m situation

IDK, I would imagine OU would want to pull Tejas down to earth someway or another.

And they want to do it by beating them repeatedly.....OU gains nothing (and probably loses money) if they decide to stop playing Texas as a haha move

I know people say moving to 12 teams didnt suck like we thought and turned out great, but I just dont see a 16 team league being a good thing. Which is exactly what I see happening if a&m comes here. Other Big 12 teams will leave and come to the PAC 12 and SEC and both conferences be 16 team leagues. jmo

Probably the current domination of their division. If I were vt I wouldn't move for shiz.

I agree. They like beating up on shrimps and playing in half-empty stadiums for BCS games.

It helps them say "look at me I'm good too!".

Still, I'd like to see it.

Man i hope this does not happen. More money does not equal better conference. The SEC is perfect the way it is

Think about it this way. If we've got a team from the state of texas, then having a team from oklahoma wouldn't be that far off. Personally I would love to see either clemson or bring GT back to the sec.

USCe and UGA would throw fits here.

Plus ga tech left (stormed out) on it's own accord and has never looked back since. Neither would really want to abandon the image the ACC gives them either

If you assume the following are true:

- NC schools sticking together
- VA schools sticking together (UVA fought tooth and nail for VT during the BE/ACC realignment; plus, I doubt VT would be very interested)
- FSU, Miami, GT, Clemson would be met with opposition from within the current SEC, plus all are in solid standing. GT also has a turbulent history with the SEC.

Where do you go as far as eastern teams?

We don't want VT guys. Of course that's alot of my personal hatered for the gourde coming through.

But really VT brings nothing to the table.

I'm still trying to figure out why fans care about TV markets, aka the only thing aTm brings to the table.

Create a scenario where you can move a western division team or a western division rivalry to the east division and then add another team from the West

Money!!!!!!! I really don't care about TV markets, dosn't put a dime in my pocket but the SEC does. They can get a much bigger contract with exposure in Texas.

It's not so much what fans want, it's what I'd be willing to bet the ADs and commissioner are looking at. It's all about the money. TV markets=money.

Except an entire state of fans and a sizable TV market, but you and I have already been over this.

Never understood why A&M didn't jump at the offer to join the SEC last year when it was offered. Culturally, the football atmosphere in College Station is much more like the SEC - lots of passion and dedicated fans. Plus, A&M fans are friendly and decent folks. My wife went there to graduate school, so I got to see the campus a little and watch a couple of games.

Can't say that I'm really that excited about an expansion of the Conference. I like the traditional line up as it is. It generally makes sense geographically. Heck, I've always thought that Arkansas didn't really belong. Oh well ... A&M wouldn't be a bad addition if it does come through. If they need another school, why not TCU, Clemson, or VT?

You'll likely see an expansion of the number of conference games in a season to help offset such

So maybe just 2 OOC games? Would need at least 10 in conference games to offset. No way I wanna lose playing bammer and at least one other west team.

The conference cares. And it helps increase the SEC's media footprint, which is noticeably smaller when compared to many of the other major conferences (especially the big ten)....and more markets means more money to each school

Depends on the number of teams....14 would be seemingly solved by a 9 in conference, 3OOC setup

The likelihood the Tennessee-Alabama game is goingto get sacrificed is pretty low really, and there are probably several options to take care of it

I'm alright with 14 teams and 9 conference games.

I know we have, and I just disagree with you on the sizable TV market and fan base. I just really think once Beamer is gone you will see a big slide, and the fans will slide away with them. Foster is not HC material and that's who will most likely get the first offer.

With all this crap going on, I would love to see us get back to prominence so we could try and get our own TV network! Never miss a game, see practices, more coaches shows, interviews. Of course, it could be a bad thing, I would never leave the house.
