Can’t like a post that paints our OL as not so good. Just hope your sources are wrong.I’m not chicken little, and I believe in Ellarbee, but according to friends on the staff our OL is getting blown up by our DL regularly. This is purely a talent problem. The older guys are nowhere near Carvin, much less Wright. The young guys aren’t strong enough yet. Of course some of this is improvement in DL talent and depth, but we’re not the best DL in our league by any stretch. We are having serious problems blocking inside runs and the backside of the QB. Mays has been pretty fragile for months and has missed a lot of practice. His healthy return is essential if we want to do well at n conference. We all better hope that we can get healthy and gel before we head to Florida.
So a coach in the program is leaking information that could be detrimental to the program!? Seems legit….If I post something it’s from a primary source— in this case a coach. That’s how baseless it is. Gomer and the Easter Egg see open segments of practice. The coaches see all of it. They’re concerned. Hopefully Cooper will be healthy and we’ll improve. If not, we’ll struggle. I obviously trust our staff to make the best of things. Just sharing when I hear something.

Don’t need a coach to leak info to figure if your starting C has had a “ procedure “ 3 weeks before the season starts and a backup OL at best may be starting at guard or center… that that is a cause for great concern. Oh and also just lost the 12 th pick in the draft and a 4 year starter. All on the OLSo a coach in the program is leaking information that could be detrimental to the program!? Seems legit….
Heupel should vett the gabby alcoholics more strenuously. You have never got drunk and talked about work with your buddies and talk about the idiot down the hall that messed up this important paperwork that could get the company in trouble.
Or coached and talked about how a kid is soft or something.
It happens all the time. We are not talking nuclear launch codes we are talking football.
And we're Dooley/Jones/Pruitt level at identifying and developing OL currently? Were you hoping we'd sign Wright and Carvin to ten year contracts?Don’t need a coach to leak info to figure if your starting C has had a “ procedure “ 3 weeks before the season starts and a backup OL at best may be starting at guard or center… that that is a cause for great concern. I don't have a dog in this fight but if you follow this forum, you know Stoerner Fumbles has had good information over the years which he has shared. I don't doubt that a coach talking amongst his friends shared that they are looking for some answers at different spots on the line. This is exactly what I was thinking. "A Coach" is going to tell "someone" that his current starting guard for UT is not SEC caliber as a senior? I'm very skeptical of that personally. JMO
Remember a single ONE of them? I cannot. Had faith in whatever he "shared" once upon a time, don't remember any of them coming to fruit. Commits? Coaching hires? MetalVolunteer, GFW back in the day amongst others I'll vouch for. Course none of the ones I put stock in ever ratted out their "source" for message board cred...so maybe it's style points.I don't have a dog in this fight but if you follow this forum, you know Stoerner Fumbles has had good information over the years which he has shared. Thankfully we have a couple of cupcakes before the real season starts.
This is exactly why I'm not penciling in UGA and Bama as wins for us as easily as some are. The simple depth of talent on those teams could eat our OL's lunch and make it a very hard day. My prediction is 9-3 on the season, hopefully not an 8-4 (doubtful). We need Cooper Mays back for the meat of the schedule in the worst way. Hard to scheme around consistent interior pressure.
