Investigation effects on recruiting

I really think the only way this becomes anything more than a secondary violation is if the credit card thing is true. It would be pretty easy to trace a credit card so it wouldn't be hard for the authorities to find out. Also I am hearing this started when Lattimore was called by the "hostesses" to come to a hotel room after the game. Lattimore then called his coach to see if it was OK because he thought it may be a violation.

I agree that Calipari should have gotten something. Now the last two programs he left, UMass and Memphis, have had wins forfeited, yet Caliparii hasn't had any problem.

I finally agree with a gator???? Whats wrong with me???

Good point. All Calipari has managed to do is continue to move up while cheating all the way. Sure must be nice to continue to get raises and never even get a slap on the wrist for cheating.

So he asked his coach if it was ok for him to go to a hotel room, and meet a hostess from UT?

Hmmmm!!! Your 17 or 18 and some hot college chick calls you and says for you to come to her hotel room, and you go call your coach???? I don't think so!

I disagree. Imo, Citigroup, FedEx, Allstate, Nokia, CapitalOne, ESPN, CBS, ABC, FOX have say over the NCAA. However, this is just one man's opinion.
lol maybe you're right but I was referring to the fact that no one gets to sanction the NCAA. Maybe the whole SEC should leave and join the NAIA.

Does anyone thing that this maybe what Gran told Jeff Luc to change his mind about Tennessee. I believe Luc was quoted saying gran told him the truth about everything

I'm not sure why everyone takes that to mean Gran revealed awful secrets. Perhaps he just said something to the effect of, "Well we have a pretty good senior at MLB next year, so don't expect to start as a freshman."

I am shocked that so many on this board do not consider this a serious reflection on what this coaching staff will do. Several years ago, the NCAA designated certain people who could and could not recruit off-campus, and they've hit schools (like Alabama and SMU) pretty hard for abusing it. As you know, even some of the coaches aren't allowed to recruit off-campus. Does anyone here believe these women weren't paid by someone at UT to help recruit? This is a significant violation, shocking that Kifin would stoop to it. (And please, don't expect me to believe he's oblivious to this). Someone needs to tell kiff that the reason other schools don't use women to recruit is NOT because no one had thought of it before. If the NCAA doesn't do something about this, every college FB team will soon be using nothing but hot women as their recruiters. Why send some ugly old man to recruit an 18-year-old when you can send a gorgeous woman?
