Iowa job belongs to Pearl if he wants it!

Naw, I don't see it. It would be a step down and a rebuilding process. So, is Iowa willing to come up with 5.5-6 million to get Pearl in? Sounds like a very desperate situation for Iowa. And, what would Iowa do about all the fans that still hate him from 25 years ago. That's not ever going away. He stays.

There are a bunch of vol fans that hate him too. I'm not not going to mention any names but it rhymes with catvol. He's their ring leader.

How's that? Is she not a good motivator or with X's and O's?

Her X's and O's don't impress me at all. She wins because she and Geno cherry pick the best players in the country every year. But, recruiting's part of coaching too.

You guys have got to be kidding me. Pat Summitt is an amazing coach. As under appreciated as it is, this is DIV 1 basketball. She deserves alot of credit for what she has done.

She'd do fine tactically. Recruiting would be a disaster. No 18-22 year old wants to be screamed at by a woman all day. They've got plenty of time to put up with that when they get married.

Of course, I'd never play for a woman.

Divorce being a reason to leave? He remarried a girl from Tennessee if I'm not mistaken.

It's D-I women's ball which only exists at most schools because Title IX forces them to tolerate it.

Agreed, but CPS still deserve credit and thanks from all of Orange Nation.

Ehhh, I don't think Bruce is going anywhere. Like most of you have already said, he has a lot of good things going for him in Knoxville. Plus, if he left he would be hanging his son out to dry. Steven is a sophomore, he couldn't transfer without sitting out a year and our next coach would never play him. Fact is, Bruce just had a divorce so screwing over his kids wouldn't be a wise life move. Just a different take on things. :)

I watch both. I don't participate in the women-hating nonsense of some. I just know that the "third fiddle" stuff is intended to insult and is factually incorrect. However, I used to play with some of the Lady Vols while in school and I know women's ball is not devoid of talent.

Give her credit, but don't pretend her record is comparable to those coaching in a competitive sport.

I never said that... All I am saying is that what she has accomplished is pretty cool.

Auriemma had it nailed this week when he essentially said women's basketball will continue to be a garbage product with about 10 good teams unless more schools start investing in it. Of course, nobody will because there's no money in it.

I will say, although I do like women's basketball, the fact that UConn has not had anyone come within 10 points of them in nearly two years is a major indictment of the sport. In no way should this happen. I imagine even UCLA had some close calls during the 88 game streak.

It comes easy when WNBA talent is playing against AAU talent.

The talent disparity is ridiculous.

In a crazy aside, of freaking course the Iowa job is Pearl's if he wants it. He'd be loony to take the step back, but it's definitely his and should be.
