Iowa job belongs to Pearl if he wants it!

Pearl is one of the hottest coaches in Basketball. A lot of schools are going to be looking at him. Every major program that is looking to replace a coach is going to have him at or near the top of their list. CBP is going to be making a lot of money in the coming years, either here ( I pray) or somewhere else (I sure hope not).

Hat, can you believe Huggin's luck. First Kenyon Martin, now this?

Losing Kenyon was much worse. UC was the best team in the country and that kept them from making a serious, serious run at a national title. I don't think they were getting past Kentucky this year, Truck or no Truck. In fact, the luck at the end of the '97 NCAA game against Iowa State and the '98 game against West Virginia was far worse for Huggs. Michigan State and Purdue have both lost their most important player. Truck's a 20 minute a game guy lately. You play the hand you are dealt.

Witch Doctor say we not know how to act having a Basketball coach anyone else would possibly want...we have many miles to go...many miles....its like someone invented a new sport and for some reason we are pretty good...Bruce is our TVA of BBall.

He ain't going nowhere....

Too much left to do here. He's accomplished something great everywhere he's been. He's taken each program to a level it's never seen before. And with this tournament not yet complete and the class he has coming next year, Bruce is all in to take the BasketVols further than they've ever gone before....

Age is catching up with me, Eric Dampier over Patterson was the one I remember. Can't win the big one started up after that, I think.

He aint going anywhere......he aint stupid either...he can have a legacy at Tennessee and not have to compete with anyone elses....(In the mens program...he wins a title sometime..they rename Knoxville after him.)
Bones never lie.

Iowa is a horrible job----if Bruce gets this team to the Final Four then the momentum that carries will elevate this program even more. I just don't see him leaving but stranger things have happened I suppose---if he leaves lets hire the coach from Northern Iowa....

"What remains to be seen (or what might have already been seen, if the rumors are true) is whether Iowa can lure Pearl away from Tennessee. Our sense is that it is highly unlikely."

Just wishful thinking by some Iowa fans, imho...

Bruce has a great class coming in, great facilities and stays near the top in attendance for all men's basketball programs. If he goes then he is crazy.

To me, it also makes no sense, especially now that he has hit 50 and facing the latter half of his coaching career. Why would Pearl spend so much effort to rebuild a Tennessee program and then not enjoy the fruits of his labor once it really starts rolling?

Besides for the 80 year olds and *****, Pat and Co. are a distant third.

This well known, except to the people that simply make things up. I'd say Pearl's #1 right now the way the Kiffin era ended and the Dooley era has started.

This period. those manly women who like other manly womenn I presume is the astericks? lol to put it politically correct

The very fact that the clown that wrote this actually thinks Pearl plays third fiddle to Pat Summit and the Lady Vols tells me all I need to know about how credible it is.

You have to love how outsiders assume just because the LV have won so many national titles that they are the toast of the town. As someone else already pointed out, the men's team, no matter how bad, have always been second behind football no matter what the LV have done. That's not disrespect that's just how it is and will probably always be. The only exception I can think of is maybe Houston's last year when the Vols won about 5 games, and even then it was more apathy for the men's team than passion for the women's.

And I'm not sure Pearl is even second to Dooley right now. He's not exactly setting the world on fire and was a questionable hire from the start.

Despite the few things I don't like about Pearl I'm so thankful of what he's done with UTBB, especially how bad of joke our football program is right now.

Is Iowa a better job than Tennessee?

No.

What makes a coaching good job? Great salary? Support from employer? Good fans who love you? Ability to recruit top-notch talent? Nice weather? Pretty scenery? Good facilities? Ability to compete at the top of your conference?

Unless Pearl just has some sentimental love for Iowa, I don't see where Iowa is measurably better than Tennessee.

Plus, Pearl's kid has another year to play at Tennessee...
