It's funny the difference in attitude now and right after the loss to Kentucky in the SEC tournament. Around then most people posting would have chipped in for Coach Pearl's buyout. It's so easy for so many to forget the sorry state of UT basketball before Bruce's arrival.

Tennessee has better facilities than Iowa.

The state of Tennessee is better than Iowa. Arena football is the closest they've come to having a pro team.

Tennessee has one of the top classes coming in while half of Iowa's team has transferred over the past 1-2 years. They might be the worst basketball team in the country from a major conference.

Tennessee is better off now than the first time Iowa tried to sign him. Iowa has definitely gotten worse since then.

Final note... Steven Pearl will still be on the team next year.

Why would he take the job this time?

The realistic fans don't think they have a shot at Pearl.

They are interested in Forbes though who was born in Iowa and lived near Iowa City.

Keno Davis from Providence rejected Iowa's advances....

I find it really hard to believe Pearl would walk out on the talent he has here for Iowa's depleted roster.

Why do fans on here always looking for Pearl to take Georgia tech or Iowa job. Give me a break. Thats why other fans make fun of Tennessee fans. Bruce is NOT going anywhere.

Witch Doctor say this/every other board represents about .000001% of 1% of Vol fans(or real sports fans truth be known)..no one(in the real world) was even talking/thinking buyout...Witch Doctor say sports boards are are just that "boards" everyone throws something against it to see what they can get to stick, some are here for sports and some are just here to get attention/reaction/drama with their outlandish post(characters welcome though..lol). Witch Doctor said it earlier, Bruce is our TVA of basketball. he AINT going anywhere anytime soon....

Well said Witch Doctor. I've tried to tell people the same thing. 99% of Vols fans are perfectly happy with CBPs coaching and 99% don't care how much money he makes.

You're wrong. Ray Mears brought mens basketball to UT and Bruce Pearl knows it and acknowledges it often. That being said, he isn't going anywhere anytime soon. You think Pearl actually cares what guys like HatVol think???

The biggest difference is I can root for CBP and not feel dirty because of it. LK was our guy and I was all in, but I knew better. Have clear conscience pulling for CBP, did not for other guy.

It's all the football fans now following basketball. They dont understand that basketball is all about the big picture on a season.

These two situations are COMPLETELY different...

UT fans really need to get over their butthurtedness due to Kiffin's departure. I'm going to root against the guy and hate USC Football no, but in now way will anything that happens at UT ever be comparable to what idiot Kweefin' and staff did, today, tomorrow or ever...

Witch Doctor no lie,,, Iowa sucks as a state and as a basketball school. Nothing there for anyone. This is def not UConn we are talking about.

Forbes said today in st Louis that Iowa is his dream job. He apparently is a candidate for the job. UT would have no chance at selby without forbes.

I should have used a different term. Most of the ContraFootVols have never set a foot on a college campus, save to see a football game.

The ContraVols on the B-ball side, while maddening, all seem to have their mental faculties about them. Sorry if I offended you and the other TRUE ContraVols... :)
