Iowa...

How do we know that there were laws written before the bible?

None of us were alive. You base that knowledge on what you have been told or have been taught.

Is that information more credible than what Christians have been taught and told for thousands of years?

are you really that daft?

none of us was alive during the Exodus, but we are expected to believe that it happened based solely on the ramblings of a crazy old man named Moses who may or may not have existed.

Prove to me that there isnt a God and I will prove to that there is

relavance? who says that if god exists that he gives a crap about gay marriage? answer: a bunch of humans writing something decades after jesus' death. this isn't proof of anything.

So whose right?

All they are saying here is that there were laws before the Bible was written. Why do you get so defensive? That fact should have no bearing what so ever on your faith.

If you oppose gay marriage that's fine. It's your belief that it's wrong. I personally feel the same way but don't care what others choose to do behind closed doors, it simply doesn't effect me and should not affect you or your religious beliefs either.

I will add that for a significant amount of the gay rights movement the issue really isn't about marriage. There is a very vocal element that wishes to do nothing but thumb their nose at the religious and embarrass them whenever possible. As far as they go they do a real disservice to men and women who want to be married for the right reasons, whatever that means.

Its funny when the discussion goes from, "I don't want you telling anyone what they should believe", followed by "but your wrong for believing what you do."

Have you ever heard of Sodom and
Gomorrah?
Moses wrote about it. Genisis 19
Moses died in 1405 BC....
Moses also wrote about morality in Leviticus 18
Verse 22 says
Thou shalt not lie with mankind , as with womankind, it is an abomination.

This was written long before Christ, not decades after Christ as you posted.

and your evidence moses himself wrote that is. . .? why does judaism allow gay rabbis?

I just love how we keep going back to this irrelevant point.

Where in the bible does it say that it is one;s duty to keep his fellow man from sinning? How do you rationalize voting AGAINST same sex marriage?

If I was a believer, I'd subscribe to the "let God sort 'em out" philosophy.

I thought the same about Obama, I voted against him. He gained the votes needed to be president, all I can do is vote against him in 12'. If he wins, he is the president again against my wishes, but none the less.

please explain how obama and gay marriage are similar situations?

Did Iowa not vote out what it didn't want?

The point was, how do you come off telling someone that their views of God/Bible/Christianity, should be there own and not pushed on others, but when a vote is taken on _____ and the result is not to your liking the majority are told shouldn't think that way.

I thought it was pretty simple.

so you are saying that if you think people shouldn't push their religious views on others that means you can't object to any vote on anything? interesting logic.

That is asinine, as your life doesn't change AT ALL whether or not same sex marriage is passed. Obama becoming president changed your life... that's absolutely fine to vote against him, but same sex marriage doesn't alter your day to day as a heterosexual christian american.

It's just folks like you keeping same sex couples from getting what they want because you resent their lifestyle. Just admit it, already.
