iPhone vs. Droid

Had an upgrade for my personal line so I decided to upgrade (if you can call it that) from my 4 to the Samsung Galaxy S II.....main reason I decided to go with this droid was due to all the reveiws, PJ's recommendation(even though I dont listen to anything else he says) and that ATT is selling the refurb at 9.99

Interesting. I have had the 4S since launch but I've been considering going Android to change things up. I can either get the S2 at Target for $350 (trade in 4S for $300) or buy the GSM version of the Galaxy Nexus. Can't decide.

I think the Nexus is supposed to be the superior phone

Attention all 4S and iPad 2 owners:

The iOS 5.0/5.0.1 jailbreak has finally been released for A5 devices! Go to "ijailbreak.com" for more info. I believe the download is only available for Mac users right now. The Windows version should be out soon. The jailbreak runs smoothly and is faster than ever before!

What's the purpose of jailbreaking your phone? I've heard about it but I'm not sure what it does?

It allows for a lot more customization & apps not approved by apple. Basically it frees up the OS to do more with more apps. It doesn't void any warranty if you are wondering.

Well, Apple says it voids the warranty. But if you just restored the iPhone before you took it to them (if there was a problem with the device) then you are fine. There's no way they can tell if it's been jailbroken.

So if you see elsewhere that it voids it, don't worry.

I'm back to hating the iPhone. Safari constantly freezes. I'm going to Verizon to get a new one tomorrow and it's probably going on Cragslist for trade

Jesus, learn how to use your phone fer cryin out loud. You just need to clear your memory. Sheesh!

Skyfire is a better browser anyway for iphone users, is faster, displays a full screen, and plays Flash. You're welcome.

Taking your phone back because Safari crashes? Waaahhhhhh!

I clear my history thanks. And it's not a once in awhile thing. It's like a 4-5 times a day thing

I'm sold on Droid. What's the best all around company to go with? For a new 2 year contract, multiple phones? AT&T? Verizon?

Really depends on where you live. You should research network coverage in your area. ATT is superior in my area, but in Tennessee, I think Verizon recieves the highest marks.

I've been with US Cellular for 8 years with my personal phone and have great coverage. My work phone is with ATT and it sucks with dropped calls.

Jailbroke iPhone 4s. Just messing around.

I have no idea how to do it

My first time to but its not hard. It's best to backup your phone on iTunes. Then disconnect & reset by erasing all contents & settings. Then set the phone up as new. It'll be like it was out of the box. The jailbreak tool is called absinthe. It's available at greenp0ison.com for windows & Mac. Download it then extract it to desktop. A GUI tool will open at which time it will tell you to connect your iPhone 4s or iPad 2. Once you connect it should recognize & you simply click jailbreak. It will have a status bar & all that. When it finishes there will be an absinthe icon. Click on it & it will run whatever it does. After that there will be a cydia icon & click on that & it will run its thing. When it finishes you're done with the jailbreak. Oh yea may be a reboot or 2 in there so just be patient. Now the long part. If I didn't mention before make sure iTunes is set so it doesn't automatically open & run when you connect your phone. Go to edit > preferences & there will be a device icon. Click on it & it will have the box to click on & disable that. Anyway now you want to connect. & open iTunes then restore from the backup you had just did. It takes awhile. After that you're good. There's a ton of tutorials on YouTube.

Sweet, thanks!
