iPhone vs. Droid

My first post from my new iPhone 4S.

Enjoy. Jailbreak adds more features & customization. Something to think about.

I have to learn how to use it regularly first. I'm new to all of this, as you know... I went with Sprint, by the way.

Thanks for all your help guys

Not a problem. You made an informed decision. The phones now days are just so good compared to what we had a few years back, you couldn't go wrong with just about any phone.

I should really learn to remember to multiquote, instead of posting twice.:eek:hmy:

What's funny about your phone, you had to jail break to to add those...I can do w/out having to root....

What's funny is my phone works flawlessly either way. Apple keeps iOS tight knit but that's their thing. I'm sure all updates & apps work seamlessly from android to android. The customization was just an added perk to jailbreaking not my main reason.

Not so much when rooted and running certain ROM's that are glitchy. They update the ROM's pretty regular though. Some are solid, and some are crap!

If you're just rooted and just use super user access to have more control it's pretty seamless.

Set up iCloud with your computer and you will love how seemlessly it syncs your contacts, calendars, bookmarks, and mail.

If you are on windows you need to download the iCloud installer from apple. It's very quick and easy to set up.

How can you do it on the Droid system

You can probably find some things in the market to customize your icons. Rooting the Android is more work IMO but a lot more powerful than iOS once rooted,it can also be more of a problem if something goes wrong. I've recovered some bricked androids that took a lot of work because people didn't follow directions. You really need to look in a droid forum and kinda learn your brand/model phone. Once you root the Android you can make them do some amazing things that iOS can't do,but it can drain the battery also.

With android you can change the laucher (ADW or Launcher Pro for example) have widgets and customize things without rooting (called jailbreaking on the Apple side).

I chose iPhone for the simplicity, and being a new smart phone user I figured I should start there

I was joking about the cydia thing bit yea the iPhone has been copied to death. That's not fanboi that's just real.

The OS has not been copied.Samsung has copied the look of the iphone, and the icons, but that's about it.

Apple has stolen just like everyone else ie Xerox and now Motorola. Really you're reading too much stupid crap on MacRumors.

That's what I like about mine. I still play around with my other phones but I enjoy its stability and simplicity. That's what OSX and iOS do well...they just work.
