I noticed that the Motorola Droid Maxx uses Gingerbread and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus uses Ice Cream Sandwich. What's the difference?
can't wait for the new ice cream sandwich OS for my SGIIGingerbread is Android version 2.3.
Ice Cream Sandwich is the latest version and is 4.0. (3.0 was used on tables before ICS) Like Windows 98, XP, Windows7, etc.
The Razr Maxx will eventually be updated to Ice Cream Sandwich in the coming months. One minus might the non-removable battery.
The Galaxy Nexus is a great phone running the newest software.
Perhaps you can argue it for another month.
Hilarious coming from you....Why? It's just your opinion versus mine. I don't speak for the masses but anybody can see the leader based on sales & popularity. Some androids are good phones but the only way I would switch is if I needed a bigger screen. I want a phone I can carry easily in my pocket. The max size for a phone IMO would be 4" & when the iPhone does that there will be no comparison. Again jmo. Some of you can't debate or have an argument without getting personal. The whole world doesn't revolve around a handful on volnation. If the guy wants to find the best phone for him get 1 iPhone & 1 droid for he & his wife.
Open iTunes & plug iPod in. What you wanna do is put it in dfu mode. Do this by holding the home button & the lock button for 10 seconds exactly. Without letting go of the home button release the lock button & hold home button for another 10-15 seconds (ignore the slide to power off on the screen). A box should pop up & you should be able to restore.
any droid users know why i'm getting a lot of freezes and force closes lately? (droid x, gingerbread)

I'm getting this as well. I have had my Droid for over 2 years and am going to upgrade in less than 2 months, just trying to find a phone I want.
Anybody know if I can root my old Droid and see if it will work a little better until I get my next phone? Also, whats the best way to do it? I've jailbroken many Ipods/Iphones but never rooted my Droid
You can root it. You can load different software.
Probably just need to hard reset the phone. Like Windows, sometimes things just get corrupted little by little, especially after software updates. So, a hard reset is like wiping your drive clean and installing a fresh copy of Windows.
