So an article that said the X is the most fragile iPhone to date. To those of you getting it be sure to invest in Apple Care or some other insurance plan.
The charger won't stay plugged into the little port/receiver thingy
Its definitely fragile. Like dozer said its all glass. Plus I believe its a little heavier than other iPhones.
I read that if you break both sides of the glass, its a $550 repair.
Ah that would explain it. I don't like it but that would explain it. Haven't tried the wireless charging yet. Though I'm not going out of my way to pay for the Qi charger
How does that square trade insurance work? Where do you take it if you have a claim?Have played with my new X for a few days now. Overall I am mucho pleased with my new purchase. A couple observations:
-The camera is astounding. I have hiked my Canon DSLR up a lot of CO mountain hikes. Never again.
-The speed of the processor is impressive. Though I am upgrading from a 6 so it might just show how far behind I was.
-The screen is amazing. I know that Samsung made it, but Apple has done some super work in the processing to make text textbook clear. And the colors are miles ahead. Though again I am comparing to my 4 year old 6.
-Animojis are meh. But that might be the 47 year old in me speaking.
-I hate cases, so I got insurance. I chose Square Trade which is AllState's small electronics insurance program. $129 for two years with $25 deductible for any repair.

Ive been debating adding AppleCare but that looks interesting.
I agree with the article 100%. I was in Best Buy just goofing off and messed around with the X. I hated it compared to the 8. If they go that route on all of the future models, theyll go way of the BlackBerry and something else will reign.
Wait and see, the X will go down as one of the more disliked iPhones when its all said and done.
Business trip last couple days calling on clients. Any iPhone owner knows the imperative in an airport of finding a seat near an outlet to plug in your phone and get enough juice to get you through the flight.
Not so with X. Phone made it all day without charging--from home to hotel after dinner--with regular use including Waze and still registered 54% battery. That might be the biggest game changer of my new iPhone.

I use square trade as well. The only claim I've had to make was for my electric smoker. The built in thermometer and bluetooth stopped working. They told me to keep the smoker and sent me a full refund (which promptly bought me a stand alone thermo).
I just signed up for both of our new phones. Got $10 off each for multiple devices, then got a pop-up offering a 3rd year for another $30 each. That's 3 years for $149 and it's transferrable to any new phone you may get.
They have 3 options for repairs on phones. The cheapest option is in-home/office visit for $25 deductible, when available. Otherwise you can take it to a local shop and they'll reimburse you, or mail it to them and get it back in 2 days. Those are a $100 deductible.
