I was about 12th or so in line at 6:35 & about 10 or 12 other people came before they opened at 8. They only had 41 phones with this first shipment. Anybody that came after that could sign a list & be next to get one & they were getting another shipment tomorrow.

Might go to AT&T and Apple tomorrow just for the heck of it. May even buy the damn thing lol.

I ordered at 2:40am. Same thing...Oct 5th. Although they elevated my status to 'preparing for shipment' from 'processing order' today, and zapped my acct for the cost of the phone. I'm hoping that means it comes a week ahead of schedule. Apparently they've had a ton of per-order cancellations now that the phones are available for in-store purchase. Logic would dictate that orders like yours and mine would move ahead with each cancellation.

If you will zoom in on the VN logo in the upper left corner and then select "add to home screen", it will create an icon of the logo.

Unfortunately, it opens in Safari and I don't think it's possible to change that to Chrome.

Broke my 4S last night...now I'm stuck with a crappy Motorola Razr until I can get my hands on a 5. I've called everyone. Some places have the 64gb but thats too much for me. Do you guys think I should just go ahead and order from Apple or wait and see if anyone gets more available within the next 3 weeks? All of my local AT&T's have a list for pre orders still. I live by an Apple store so that would be my best bet.

Just call around and see who's the least backlogged. Apple stores here have had way more inventory than wireless stores

Try authorized retailers as well. I got my 4s on the release day without waiting in a line or ordering it. Granted the demand may have not been as much as it is for the 5, but not many people consider them when looking.

Walked into the apple store this morning and got a 16gb iphone5. Set up as a new iPhone at the store but now trying to figure out how to restore to my icloud backup and not sure how to do it.

When you initially setup there should have been an option between setup as new or restore from iCloud or iTunes.
