They are backed up but this is the 4th time it's happened and it's beyond annoying having to wait for it to restore. If I'm not satisfied after I take it to the Apple store, hello Android!
Nope. Runs my battery down much faster.
So I finally jailbroke. What are some of your favorite cydia "apps"? Does anyone have a good one for tethering?
What's the best way to protect myself in event of a crash? I don't want to pay for a lot of apps only to lose them later.

Cc, how much customization can be done with a jailbroken iPhone?I like Pdanet for tethering. BiteSMS, 3G unrestrictor, Bulletin, Springtomize, SBsetttings, Forcast, Barrel, Zeppellin, Winterboard, iBlacklist (block text, calls, etc from numbers) & accellerate are a few to check out & good starters. Some are functional & some are just customizing tweaks. Everything you purchase you will be able to recover at no charge. There's sources you can add for cracked (free) versions of apps too. You can add sinfuliphonerepo.com to your sources but I'll leave that up to you.
You rebel. I'm going to need a full review. You have the 5, right?

I do have a 5. My daughter texted me yesterday that she was going to do it and there was no way I was going to be out tech'd by my teenage daughter.
Thanks. So far I've downloaded the bolded plus Killbackground and Activator.
My daughter's 5 froze this morning and she freaked. She restored and has sworn off the jb. What's the best way to get back in the phone in case of crash? Home+power+vol up?
Freak, it doesn't get much easier than this:
How to jailbreak iPhone 5, iPad, and iPad mini on iOS 6.1 and 6.1.2
Some good apps here, ifile looks beneficial or dangerous depending on skill level... The best jailbreak apps in Cydia
I like activator. You're able to customize actions for whatever function you want. When I triple click the home button, I get a pop up that gives me the option of toggling wi-fi, bluetooth, and brightness controls. And that's not even scratching the surface of what you can do with it.
