Middle East archrivals Iran and Saudi Arabia agree to mend ties after almost 7 years of hostility | CNN

Riyadh and Tehran plan to reopen their embassies in an agreement mediated by China, a joint statement by Saudi Arabia and Iran said on Friday.

Talks had been ongoing since March 6 in Beijing between Iran’s National Security Council head Ali Shamkhani, Saudi Arabia’s National Security Council adviser Mosaed Bin Mohammad Al-Aiban and China’s top diplomat Wang Yi, according to Iranian state media.

We will continue to see the trend of dictators looking towards each other.

Hopefully this will mean good news for the Yemeni people.

I don’t think we’ll see real cooperation between them any time soon but it’s a step in the right direction. As noted by tvolsfan, I hope it benefits the Yemenis.
Now we’ll hear PRC go on about how we encourage and profit from conflict while they work for harmony and all that happy stuff.

China: Peacemaker, diplomacy and building infrastructure in the Global South
US: Warmongering, no diplomacy and crumbling infrastructure

This is HUGE.
Bye bye petro dollar on top of this artificial CC stuff.
The CCP has ****ed us..yet everyone is focused on tactical Ukraine

Most will not understand

Who’s next?

The list is long. But this “alliance” will last until the Next Hajj when a Shiite shoots a Sunni or vv. This is literally a 1000 year feud. We sold The Kingdom their entire air defense and we can turn that **** off anytime we want to.

This Administration has managed to bring the world outside of the West closer together and is ripping apart America.

The next show to drop (which is already moving in that direction with BRICS/Belt & Road) is India/China.

World equality in whatever term..

You have to be an idiot to not..Amercia uses so many world resources, America is not exceptional despite flaws

There is no doubt in my mind..this is quid pro quo world governance and why the very term MAGA was so disruptive.
We are not a Constitutional Republic but servants to the NWO

Factor in KSA’s cooperation with Tel Aviv, and consider that PRC is trying to get the world off the USD, and this can get interesting in a bad way for us.

I think China is exploiting overt and covert resentment of USA hypocrisy, economic bullying, unwelcome nose in everybody's business, and general manipulative policies. Not that other nations are innocent of any, if not all, of these things. But the USA is the foremost practitioner of it, and quite blatant about it. The Chinese know this and are positioning themselves to undermine USA policy, friendships, and influence. We ain't seen nothing yet. They know that direct military confrontation is a losing option for them, but combing a game of chess and whack-a-mole, is quite doable as the foundation, sadly, has already been lain by America itself. Added to this is the gradual internal collapsing of American society by its traditional divisionism, suppression of its minorities, biased attitudes and greedy exploitations toward all others who aren't elitists, China thinks the iron is hot, so strike now, but with patient and subtle tactics.

Won't last. It's racial and it's religious. They have been regional adversaries for 5000 years. Iranians are Persians (do not call a Persian an Arab) and Saudis are ethnically arabian. Then you have the fact that they adhere to different, competing sects of Islam.

Finally add in that they both are specialists in duplicity and you can imagine how this will go.

As far as the Chinese, their problem is that sooner or later they will do something insulting that shows their incredible sense of racial superiority and piss everybody off.

This isn't some alliance but possibly the end of the petro dollar .

Do you really think the Saudis are willing to risk the Chinese money markets? There's a reason our bonds are still the safest investment in the world. The Saudis keep talking about building an economic machine outside of oil. High risk doesn't work with that.

Plus they now see the qualitative difference between NATO weaponry and Russian technology based weapons. Whose military do you want on your side in a tough spot.

They definitely see the difference (both in Ukraine and in Syria). If it was US/NATO weapons winning the day, do you think this would have seriously tilted out of their favor?

I know that you're a propagandist, but I didn't realize the delusion was this strong.
Sir, if the NATO weaponry was that strong and that abundant, this deal would have never been imagined. You need to wake up and smell the coffee.

Sounds sorta gay. (this is a reference to an extremely funny video, don’t cancel me)

The only thing that’s funny is the concept of this being 7 years of hostility. The Kingdom flew American fighter jets over Iraqi oil fields in the 80s to protect them from Tehran. The hatred between them probably traces back before the Crusades. Maybe to the time of Xexes. Only a **** show that paid Don Lemon to cover the news would describe this as 7 years.

I'm not so sure about this alleged long held rivalry, I place the blame more on The British Empire in the early 20th Century... maybe even later than that in the 1950s as the British Empire was fading...

Raz, spend a little time learning about the armaments in play right now.

For example, the Ukrainians are begging for Generation 4.5 fighters in the F-16 and most observers agree it would be effective against everything except the latest Russian fighter, the SU-57. We're not talking the F-22 or the F-35, we're talking the 40 year old F-16.

What do you think a Raptor, the universally acknowledged greatest air superiority fighter in the world today, would do to a SU-57 whose weapons system is being operated on a computer chip stolen out of a Samsung refrigerator?

One more thing, you know how many SU-57s they have? 16

I'm thinking that would be a nice snack for 6 Raptors.
