Ras, you may not agree with the U.S. position of world police. We can all agree that we have noses in too many places that it doesn’t belong. However, are you ok with our boys and girls being sitting ducks and not being able to defend themselves.

No, I am not. And neither was Trump. He wanted troops pulled out in 2019 but the people under him (or actually the people over him) decided to disobey his order.

I've been one of the few in this motherf*cker screaming that we need to get the f*** out of the sandbox and worry about our own damn borders!!!

You were the one arguing that it was Iran and Pakistan working together all along to get shared terrorists, and there was no escalation between the two. Now you are in here applauding them de-escalating. Sounds like that tit-for-tat wasn't as mutually coordinated as YOU thought it was.

How is that contradicting anything that I said? This was just for public consumption... all of the histrionics and bluster didn't amount to anything. Again, do you really think that Iran would arbitrarily go into Pakistan, a nuclear power, without some back channel communications? And especially when they were engaged in naval exercises at the same time frame?

You are not very bright.

that's exactly what happened. they communicated AFTER the fact. that's why there was a tit-for-tat attacks. and they had to de-escalate AFTER the fact. if there had been communication there would have been no "escalation" to "de".

if it was all worked out and coordinated why weren't the Iranians striking the "terrorists" in Iran that Pakistan went after, and why didn't Pakistan go after the "terrorists" in Pakistan that Iran went after? seems like that is a million times simpler, and wouldn't require any type of conciliatory language after the fact.

Iran is picking a fight with the US. we probably have more nukes sitting in a sub off the iranian coast than the Pakistanis have in their entire country. also picking a fight with the Israelis (extremely tit for tat there), and the UK. all armed with nukes. that doesn't seem to be holding up the Iranians anywhere else.

This is a major escalation. We need to evacuate our troops from these vulnerable outposts/bases scattered throughout.

I believe all this is orchestrated with Russia. I just cannot get over why Iran is provoking the US and almost like they want this showdown.
If we hit Iran, would we dare have to take out their nuclear facilities? That would engulf the entire ME, may even get China involved.
