Plus aren't 80 to 90 percent of all Muslims Sunni? I don't expect much of this crowd to know that though. I think I'm just going to start lowering my expectations in here.

And recently leaders of the Iranian Jewish community even came out in support of the Iranian government.

Iran is lead by an apocalyptic death cult. Their foundation is built in the belief that chaos must ensue before the 12th Imam can return. That is why they can never be trusted with nukes. It's really sad because many of the Persian people hate their leadership. Best case scenario is that long term this takes care of itself and the people crush the government, and run the crazy muzzies out of their leadership position. Worst case is that they fire a nuke at Israel someday. I wouldn't be surprised if Israel took early action like they have done before and launched an airstrike to level Irans nuclear sites.

So you have no answer. The answers look like 'nobody' and 'nowhere'.
Their government is rotten but let's be accurate about what they're doing.

The Iranian people that are in the US are good people. The Persian people deserve a lot better than what they got. They still have that sub culture Western mindset.
Same with the Kurds..who was on of Americas staunchest allies in the ME..and we keep throwing them under the bus.

Leave it to government to **** everything up and generate hate.

I've known a handful of Iranians over the years and liked them. I'm aware that I tend to be biased against Islam when it's really the radical factions that are problematic. The thing is that it seems so easy for the radical factions to come to power - like the religion doesn't have a means to moderate itself or to protect itself from radicals. I guess when the path leads to people being so devout that they don't question and can't protest, that extremism and abuse of power is a likely outcome.

The first 2 quarters of calculus I had at UT, I had an Iranian as my instructor, he was brilliant. I struggled for a few days at first and then bam it all made sense, the guy just knew how to teach. I made it a mission to sign up for his second quarter class and made A's in both classes. Unfortunately, I think he finished up his PhD and moved on after that.

Remember the Iranian uprising and Obama just pooing it. But the Arab Spring..omg got support that in Egypt.
Another epic American FP failure..its effects still be felt and temps rising today. In fact..Kerry has been trying to double down of this failure.

Obama has always been a fool. Dems, in fact, seem to be a ship of fools. Biden wanted to deal with Iran, too. At some point you have to write off states like Iran until something happens and they destroy themselves or come to their senses.

I think I learned more about calculus in Reactor Theory than I ever did from the UT math department. It seems rare when a math department comes up with a good instructor - they don't seem to comprehend that people who would actually use calculus and other higher level math (like engineers) need something different from what floats a mathematician's boat.

If only the US had not overthrown Mossadegh... Iran was one of the most westernized countries in the ME at the time.
