Is Dave Hart inept?

By waiting until the end of the season = more empty seats at Neyland vs UK = more $ lost for the university. By making the call now, I believe more people will show up at our last game. It's the smart thing to do for the university by doing it now.

Lets be honest, we aren't beating Vandy and we aren't going to a bowl game.

Dave Hart knows what he's doing better than ANYBODY on this board. He don't need our help. Dooley is fired. When the time is right, the time will be right to tell everybody. If you want to go to the Vandy and UK games then take off and go. The players will be very appreciative. If you don't want to support the players these last two games then stay home.

Just think, if hell froze over and Gruden came to UT most of you would be praying at your alter to Hart every night. You guys need to chill.

No, its not the Gruden thing, although that would be great. It has to do with him leaving Dooley at the helm way too long. Let's face it, DD should have been fired weeks ago. He should have fired him and placed an interim for the remainder of the season and allowed the search to be opened up. I know the search is going on in the background, hopefully. But the desecration of our program the last 10 years has taken its toll on the Vol Faithful and Hart needs to get his ass in gear and just fire him and quit looking like such a pu**y. IMHO

Hart was selected to play a lead role in a retro sitcom, Get Smart. He plays the part of Maxwell Smart who is a bumbling secret agent working for a spy organization called Control. His supporting cast includes the Chief, played by Jimmy the Cheek. And, for those wondering, Agent 99 is played by the lovely Barbara Dooley.

Now, as for Hart not voicing his support for the UT football team and its coaching staff, and not making any announcements regarding the removal of the Mole (played by Derek Dooley) that Chaos (the bad-guy spy organization) has placed within Control's organization, Max and the Chief are sitting under the Cone of Silence discussing how to deal with Mole... and cannot figure a way out. Give them a little time... and Max will stumble out somehow, and the guys in the GBO caps will win.

Firing Dooley wouldn't sell any seats. There are plenty of tickets already sold and available on the streets. Perhaps ... PERHAPS ... an announcement of who the next coach might be would stimulate a little sales of those street tickets but it would have to be THE right announcement. That announcement is not ready.

Sounds like the OP would be inept as an AD. Good thing he is just a volnation poster instead. You people have no clue how this process works.

The point is he could win you back in a heartbeat. So I doubt he cares if you guys have to sweat it out for a couple of more weeks. He is working behind the scenes. He has his reasons. We can still make a bowl game. Either way Dooley will be gone. Everyone knows it. Just have some patience. Crucifying Hart when you have no idea what is going on is very ignorant.

It's been said on here a hundred times but here's 101 . . .

If you announce that he's fired today but let him coach out the season, there's even less chance we beat Vanderbilt (see: Wyoming 2008). Lose to Vandy = no bowl game. Bowl game = more $$, extra practices, national exposure. That's why most people believe nothing will be announced until next Monday, following the Vandy loss.

Is getting beat by the 6th best team in the ACC in the "We're 6-6 and both suck Bowl" really the kind of national exposure we need right now?

Makes no sense to me to wait. If Hart has decided to fire Dooley, there is no need to wait for the next guy to be locked up before letting the team, fans, and recruits know the direction we are going. The longer he waits to say anything just hurts recruiting. You can be sure there are alot of recruits who would want no part of playing for Derek Dooley. IF Hart were to announce a change is coming, it would at least give recruits a reason to hold off on picking another school until a new coach is named here. If there is no way Dooley will be retained, just let the Vol fanbse/recuits know that better days are ahead.

they still have a shot at a bowl game...hart does not want to disrupt this for the seniors/team...it could eventually mean more money if they get to a bowl...

if dooley loses to vandy...might be gone that night cause bowl picture fades...

it is all about the bowl picture

I am sick and tired of reading articles that say Dave Fart will evaluate the situation at the end of the season.Whats there to evaluate.Another disapointing loss where Tennessee scores 40 plus points. And listening to Drooley make excuse after excuse.Sorry guys i am just tired of the long drawn out process.GO VOLS.....

This moment could define the rest of Hart's AD career. He will need to step carefully on this one.

Just wondering why he is dragging this out so long.
Why are you in such a hurry? This is not a race and there are still two games to play. The team still needs a head coach to lead them the next two weeks or even more.
