Is Dave Hart inept?

Have patience, word on the streets is Hart is keeping his mouth shut until the end of the year because an agreement has already been made under the table that necessitates silence. I'm crossing my fingers anyways

What source gave you this information?

OK, by "word on the street" you mean you know someone who would know, and that's what they are saying? I mean, I've heard that speculated on the board but it's always "well I think"....Would love to know that it's true.

There's no plan in place. Hart has never done this before and is stalling for time. It's going to cost us, because Arkansas and (probably) Auburn are out there already talking to coaches' agents. Hart is sitting around hoping the boosters land a hail mary with Gruden. I hope I'm wrong, but it doesn't make any sense to me why Hart wouldn't have started the official coaching search by now, unless he was in over his head or was trying to keep Dooley (which would mean that he doesn't care if UT wins or loses).

:eek:lol:

We better have some big news by the end of the year or Hart's gonna get run out of Knoxville along with Dooley

I have a feeling that Hart has his mind made up and that he has feelers out and has had for some time to see who may/may not be interested. With the timing what it is, those that may have interest would not be too smart to comment at this time as they may have a bowl in their near future.

I don't know about the most of people on here, but the company that I retired from was very tight lipped about the executives that they were about to hire, as well as the ones that were getting axed and 100% of the time those getting axed did not and had not produced. i.e.
high risk, high reward.

Dooley gets fired every week but is still here. So until I see Hart on ESPN saying that he told Dooley to pack his bags and to get the hell out of Tennessee I will not believe he is fired.

Word on the street is that Hart is seriously looking at Tommy Tuberville and Al Golden. If that is his definition of "homerun hire," then we probably need to be looking for a new AD as well.

4) As much as I want Dooley gone, and I DO WANT HIM GONE, I'm starting to kinda feel sorry for the guy. I mean he's being left to dangle in the wind, having to tell the media about his own job status b/c Hart doesn't seem to have the (foot)balls to do it. It's almost cruel at this point.

Let him dangle. Let him know what it's like to be thrown under the bus:rock:

At this point anything anyone says is speculation because it isn't official. But you can take "insider info" for what it's worth (which is probably crap). I gathered the above information from a variety of posts in the Coacing Speculation forum. Obviously not a concrete source but that's why I said I was crossing my fingers.

Turbervill for sure, don't really know about Golden except that he was given a raw deal with UM at the beginning.
and getting quality players would be a stretch with what they are facing.

Yeah I had picked up on the same speculation, but I'm hoping to run across someone with some actual inside info.

I really hate seeing our fanbase like this. Dooley has proven to be so polarizing it's remarkable. And I don't understand it, either. There shouldn't be any polarizing when someone so obviously needs to go.

Hart will not hire rubberville

Just going on what I read in the "Mr. Sec" blog. According to him, seems that Arky is already trying to lock-up Patterson. No need to panic, but there also needs to be a small sense of urgency before all the good coaches are gone.

If we don't get Patterson or Gruden, (or some other big name), I'd rather just stick with Dooley.

1) He's had virtually no communication with the fans throughout this whole Fall. He's been like a ghost. I mean not even positive communication, encouraging the fans, making announcements, etc. For all of Hamilton's many many faults, he did communicate with the fans.

Does Hart's contract say he has to host a weekly radio show? I don't know what Hart can say that we don't already know. Do you need to hear from Hart that Dooley is worthless?

Arkansas has known since Petrino was fired and Smith was hired that they would be hiring a new coach. Auburn has not fired Chizik yet. Only UK has made it known, at least that I'm aware of and what good has it done.

I think Hart is doing the right thing here and I'm not a fan of the guy. As long as Dooley still has a job, the hounds stay away for a week more. No potential hire wants to be discussing this in public at this time. The top of the list most certainly does not want their names being mentioned "as in talks with" or "gauging interest" because they are coaching teams or in Gruden's case, under contract w/ ESPN.

All that to ask, what would Hart have to say right now, regarding Dooley, that would satisfy folks? The players deserve to finish out the season or at least this week, trying to reach a bowl game. If we lose at Vandy folks might get their wish. My feeling is that the current players, like Herman Lathers, feel worse about the season than any fan. He and the other players who've endured this mess deserve a measure of respect. If not firing the coach the week before the Vandy game helps the players keep their focus, good. They don't deserve the distraction that firing the coach would cause.

Save your ridiculous hyperbole for someone else. Your response is not even close to what I wrote.

hart has been making calls and gauging interest since the Miss St loss. Jimbo Fisher? He hates his AD and admin. Looks like we are going after Al Golden(MIAMI) and Tubberville. Other than that ,some people have already said no. Patterson to ARK. Gruden to Philly(HE did not say no)he loves andy reid and the eagles. Now Jack Del Rio's agent has thrown his name onto the list. We can't get Del Rio until Peyton losses in the playoffs, which could take a while. Sad

....what would Hart have to say right now, regarding Dooley, that would satisfy folks?

As for me, I addressed that in what I wrote in the original post.

I realize most people would want to hear either "he's fired and I've taken away his orange pants" or "he's staying for another year". For me, it's what I said earlier. I don't expect a conclusion, but fans do deserve some communication.
