Is Georgia really as good as people are giving them credit for?

Please hear me out on this and my reasoning for asking the question that I have.

For SEC games, Georgia has played the #6 (Missouri), #10 (USCjr), #11t (Auburn & Florida), and #14 (Vanderbilt) defenses to get to their #3 offense rating at 43.1 Pts/Game average. They have also faced the #8 (USCjr), #9 (Florida), #10 (Vanderbilt), #11 (Missouri), #13 (Auburn) offenses to get to their #1 defense rating and 10.5 points against total.

I'm not saying that they are not good, just that I am not sure that they have been up against anything really challenging. For comparison sake, Tennessee has faced the #2(Alabama), #3(Kentucky), #5(LSU), and #11(Florida) defenses to get our #1 offence rating at 49.4 Pts/Game average. We have also faced #2(Alabama), #5(LSU), #9(Florida), and #11(Kentucky) offenses for our #4 defense rating and our 21 points against total.

Again, not saying that they are not good......just don't know if they are as great as everyone in the media are making them out to be. If we play like we have in the three SEC games (LSU, Alabama, and UK) we should be able to leave Athens at 9-0. Just my observations.

They can’t match out schedule but they absolutely manhandled Oregon and the Florida game was never really close. They still have more talent on their roster, but their defense hasn’t been tested the way they are about to be.
But didn't that mighty Kentucky defense contain Florida's offense better than Georgia did? At the beginning of the year when Florida still had hope in their eyes.

They have had a much weaker schedule than we have but reality is that they are the defending national champs and are undefeated. Until that changes, they are going to get all the benefit of the doubt. And rightly so. Nothing in our recent past (even last year) would suggest we are some irresistible juggernaut. Our players may know better but the people do not yet.

To get that respect, TN is going to have to go down to Athens and punch them in the mouth and TAKE that crown from them (and we will!). It just works that way.

They are number one only because a bunch of voters believe GA is that good. I'm sure those voters know more about it than I do.

GA is a very good team but they have a really bad problem. The TN offense has more options and more firepower than any RS-Senior-Extra COVID Year- player on their team has EVER seen.

Their 25 year old QB is now facing the most improved defensive backfield in the FBS.

Gawga gotta prob.

GO VOLS ! ! !

There is a lot of "cope" going on right now on their rivals page. They seem to think we are the team that barely got by Pittsburgh. They blame our wins against LSU, Bama and Kentucky on those teams handing the games to us with turnovers and muffed punts/kicks.

This is going to be a fantastic game and it will feel good if the Vols can shut Georgia up. I've always suspected Kirby was benefiting from a seriously down SEC East. This will be our first big chance to prove it. I have a hard time believing "Defensive guru's" are the future of head coaching in the SEC.

They made the Oregon Ducks look like the Akron Zips since they steamrolled them, and the Ducks had their worst offense game because the Bulldogs defense shut the Ducks offense down.

They also easily defeated the Gators in a game that was highly undramatic.
The Bulldogs took their foot off the gas which is the only reason the Gators were able to highly reduce the lead.

The Tennessee Volunteers are going to have play a great game including winning the turnover battle for them to defeat a great Georgia Bulldogs team in Georgia.

Pretty much sums it up. Our “traditional power” program description we’ve using while three subpar coaches tried to fix things doesn’t resonate and it’s hard for people to realize we may have finally gotten the right coach.

I think they are worried. This made me laugh and didn't offend me for some reason.
I didnt realize he was a Georgia fan at first or why he was saying TN was 8 and 1.

Until proven otherwise they are the defending champs. Period. They have not shown anything to prove otherwise (an L)

And I am the furthest thing from a UGA fan..I only dislike FL and Bama more than them.

Tbh they haven't been tested yet. They can say that they were against Oregon and maybe Florida. But Oregon is in the pac 12 so that stat may be a bit skewed. And Florida is sporadic in how they play. If Georgia doesn't play thier best game on Saturday They're in trouble. I like that we are the underdog here. This team has played like they have a chip on thier shoulder and imo we need to keep that up.
