Kid,
Hopson is not going in the first round. He should return, learn to dribble drive without bouncing the ball of his foot, and work on defense and his jumper.
You cannot be dumb enough that you used the first part of the ESPN article to justify saying Hopson is awesome without reading the second part of the article you are now quoting...I said Hopson was a disappointment and was not playing up to his potential, and you mocked me, apparently because of an article that says the same thing.
Now you're just blatantly lying and trying to backtrack.
At no point in this thread was my argument directed to anything other than the narrow point of Hopson's athleticism (i.e. is he the best athlete in the draft). I mocked you because you responded to a post where I cited the opinion of NBA scouts on the question of Hopson's athleticism by referring to me as a "Hopson fluffer". The mocking was completely warranted, and I don't feel a bit bad about it.
Here is the conversation that actually took place:
(1) It started with me saying this:
People who are paid to formulate opinions about such things opine that he might be the best athlete in the draft. Couple that with the fact that he can shoot, and I think he'll be just fine.
(2) You responded to #1 by calling me a "Hopson fluffer" (post has been removed)
(3) ocho responded to #1 with the following ridiculous statement:
who said he was the best athlete in the draft? hes wasnt even the best athlete on the team
(4) therickbol responded to #1 with the following:
Scotty is a great athlete. But he is not the best athlete in the draft.
(5) I responded to #2 with a link to the Chad Ford article where he states that several scouts have told him that Hopson is the best athlete in the draft. I indciated to you that I would no longer be doing your research for you, and then I believe I mentioned something about a short bus (post was removed).
(6) I responded to #3 with the same link, but without any additional commentary about a short bus. This post remains intact (#128).
(7) I responded to #4 by referring to my above post that included the link.
(8) ocho responded to #6 with the following painfully moronic statement:
thats some pay site so i have no idea who he is talking about. but even if hes taling about hopson thats like a 5th hand opinion by the time you quote it here. huge huge stretch from any truth where it began and its just not true. hes not an athlete type at all. athletes have crazy strength, jumps, speed etc. thats not hopson. i like him and hope he does great but he is not athletic enough to be classified as an athlete prospect
(9) therickbol responded to #7 with a similarly ridiculous post that ostensibly questioned the amount of weight that should be given to the opinions of NBA scouts:
Lol, that is your concrete evidence. No actual names. And not all or most, but several believe he might be. Ok sounds good, case closed.
(10) I responded to #8 with the following:
ESPN is a pay site only if you are indigent.
Explain to me how NBA scouts directly addressing ESPN's main NBA draft guy, who then puts those words into an article (that you are too poor to read) is a 5th hand opinion. I look forward to hearing your brilliant analysis
(11) I responded to #9 with the following:
Right......smart guy. Because Chad Ford of ESPN has so much incentive to invent quotes from NBA scouts.
Do you realize how dumb you sound?
(12) You then wrote the fictional post that I quoted and discussed at the very top.
Going forward, if you could stay on topic and try to refrain from referring to conversations that never happened, or happened (a) solely in the confines of your own head or (b) with your favorite teletubby.
