Is Hopson gone.....

Since we are being sarcastic & taking every word literally did CCM specify basketball court? If he didn't say basketball he could've meant meant tennis court.

When he said what they looked like on the court did he mean how the played basketball or if they just looked good in their uniforms standing on the court?

Maybe he meant court of law. Is Ramar Smith still on the team?

Late to the thread. Answer: Yes. Kid I know talked to him two days ago. Hops thinks Cuonzo ain't onzo....

This will probably change. Just reporting what I heard.

Yea, I really took that statement out of context. I'm hoping you're not as mentally inept as you're appearing right now.

And no doubt you are an online allstar. I bet all the NBA GMs are calling you for advice on Hopson & Lofton. I was mocking your "pathetic" sarcasm while at the same time agreeing with your point that Hopson has a better shot than Lofton at making an NBA roster.

Yes, because if one simply states the obvious point that Hopson has more NBA potential than Chris Lofton, then obviously he is holding himself out as an NBA insider. Funny, you just admitted you felt the same way Hopson. I guess you're being contacted quite a bit too.

with hopson athletism if he could shoot the ball as good as loften ,he would be a top three pick, but he hasn,t got the great shooting of loften nor can he dribble well ,and being one year away from graduating he should stay and graduate and work on his game so he can possible get to and play in the nba

Wonder what Coach Martin meant when he said that Monday was the first time he got to see what the guys looked like on the court?
You can continue these semantics all day long, but we, as fans, have been watching Hopson in games for three years, so i don't care what CCM meant. It's irrelevant to this conversation. In fact this is the first of anyone referencing any of his statements in this particular conversation. Why it was done to begin with makes no sense.

I appreciate your insight on hoops LawVol, but you are going down a road for no reason here... It's semantics like this that water down boards where honest discussions are trying to be had.

Going back and forth on what I meant, when I've now pointed out what I meant three times since the original statement, brings nothing to the conversation.

EDIT: And whether anyone here likes it or not, it's my opinion and it's certainly arguable. Not that it matters much, though, because in the end I imagine neither one of them will see a court in the NBA. But if you feel strongly that I am way off base with my opinion I suppose I should pipe down because you've proven yourself to be highly respected in college coaching circles with your hoops knowledge on X's and O's. Hence the reason you are posting on a Vols message board like the rest of us.

thats some pay site so i have no idea who he is talking about. but even if hes taling about hopson thats like a 5th hand opinion by the time you quote it here. huge huge stretch from any truth where it began and its just not true. hes not an athlete type at all. athletes have crazy strength, jumps, speed etc. thats not hopson. i like him and hope he does great but he is not athletic enough to be classified as an athlete prospect

ESPN is a pay site only if you are indigent.

Explain to me how NBA scouts directly addressing ESPN's main NBA draft guy, who then puts those words into an article (that you are too poor to read) is a 5th hand opinion. I look forward to hearing your brilliant analysis.

Lol, that is your concrete evidence. No actual names. And not all or most, but several believe he might be. Ok sounds good, case closed.

Right......smart guy. Because Chad Ford of ESPN has so much incentive to invent quotes from NBA scouts.

Do you realize how dumb you sound?

You appear to be suggesting that everyone on this board is dumb simply because we are on the board.

1. That doesn't make any sense.
2. All message board posters were not created equal. Some say smart, insightful things. Others say indefensible, moronic things.

I do agree, however, that you should pipe down. That was your most worthwhile point in the entire thread.

Kid,
Hopson is not going in the first round. He should return, learn to dribble drive without bouncing the ball of his foot, and work on defense and his jumper.

You cannot be dumb enough that you used the first part of the ESPN article to justify saying Hopson is awesome without reading the second part of the article you are now quoting...I said Hopson was a disappointment and was not playing up to his potential, and you mocked me, apparently because of an article that says the same thing.

Now you're just blatantly lying and trying to backtrack.

At no point in this thread was my argument directed to anything other than the narrow point of Hopson's athleticism (i.e. is he the best athlete in the draft). I mocked you because you responded to a post where I cited the opinion of NBA scouts on the question of Hopson's athleticism by referring to me as a "Hopson fluffer". The mocking was completely warranted, and I don't feel a bit bad about it.

Here is the conversation that actually took place:

(1) It started with me saying this:
People who are paid to formulate opinions about such things opine that he might be the best athlete in the draft. Couple that with the fact that he can shoot, and I think he'll be just fine.

(2) You responded to #1 by calling me a "Hopson fluffer" (post has been removed)

(3) ocho responded to #1 with the following ridiculous statement:
who said he was the best athlete in the draft? hes wasnt even the best athlete on the team

(4) therickbol responded to #1 with the following:
Scotty is a great athlete. But he is not the best athlete in the draft.

(5) I responded to #2 with a link to the Chad Ford article where he states that several scouts have told him that Hopson is the best athlete in the draft. I indciated to you that I would no longer be doing your research for you, and then I believe I mentioned something about a short bus (post was removed).

(6) I responded to #3 with the same link, but without any additional commentary about a short bus. This post remains intact (#128).

(7) I responded to #4 by referring to my above post that included the link.

(8) ocho responded to #6 with the following painfully moronic statement:

(9) therickbol responded to #7 with a similarly ridiculous post that ostensibly questioned the amount of weight that should be given to the opinions of NBA scouts:
Lol, that is your concrete evidence. No actual names. And not all or most, but several believe he might be. Ok sounds good, case closed.

(10) I responded to #8 with the following:

(11) I responded to #9 with the following:

(12) You then wrote the fictional post that I quoted and discussed at the very top.

Going forward, if you could stay on topic and try to refrain from referring to conversations that never happened, or happened (a) solely in the confines of your own head or (b) with your favorite teletubby.

Hopson has had some good games, some fair games and some terrible games. Overall he was a plus for the team. If he doesn't go in the first round he should not go. If he can make a million dollars he is foolish to come back.

I could write an unbelievable thesis on subjects like you. Your 12-point opinion is quite the spectacle.
