Is it time to rethink John Calipari?

Cal is a douche. He crapped on Memphis. They were good but he cheated. Kentucky has a lot of money and ways to cover things. Hell they took care of that drunk Billy Clyde while he was winning. No perspective change he's looking for $$ and that's it. Used car salesman.

I still feel that the 08 Memphis team is better than most of his current Kentucky teams. That team of course had the freshman sensation Rose but it had a good makeup of veteran players too that played his system well.

Yes if they could shoot free throws they would have been undefeated. Horrible free throw shooting team.

I'll wait for you to point where the NCAA or anyone involved in the situation said Cal was behind Rose's tests. Is Cal clean? No. Is he directly at fault for Rose or Camby? Can't be proven unfortunately.

Took a hell of a lot of paint.

You sound bitter. Relax buddy.

He's sent plenty of kids to the league, which is their dream. Someone that's held against him and said to ruin the game. He's never had any kids involved in scandals (knock on wood) like some other big schools. Somehow Calipari and his players get painted as scum when it's the Lawsons yelling "F*** Tubby" heading to Kansas, or Grayson being a baby all year tripping opponents at Duke, UNC faking classes for 20 years, or UL hosting strippers in the dorms. Yet Cal is a criminal because one of his players took gifts and another had someone else take a test after he led those teams to unprecedented levels. Probably the closest thing to a scandal was Bledoe's high school grades being helped (which at my high school, was the norm for the best athletes).

Lack of institutional control. He's the boss. You don't get to play dumb in that position.

No coaches are completely clean. Some are dirtier than others. Is Cal a horrible person? Not by real world standards, not close. Is he a stand up, role model type person? Without concrete evidence, it's not guaranteed, but context looks like no. I wouldn't want him coaching my team, but as a fan of K and Duke, I know K has likely done shady things as well to get players to Duke.

Im not bitter at all. I just think its funny the UK fans act like he is the next coming of Jesus. But if he wasnt their coach you all would feel as everyone else does. Thats all. And if he was the coach at Tennessee. Well lets just say i would have to seriously start rooting for my second favorite team for a while. And i have blead orange for 45 years. I would rather win or lose with Barnes any day.

He did not send them to the league they did it themselves and most of them would have went to the league if they played for any team.

UT does the same thing with Pearl. A coach with far less achievements, real NCAA issues, and not even at a relevant job.

ESPN is not a bastion of honest reporting. Especially when helping a cash cow

Im more curious to know what comes of Carolina. They deserve the SMU treatment. But i somehow remember the NCAA saying they would never give a program the death penalty again. May be wrong on that.

If you think these players wouldnt have made it to the league without CoachCrookedArm your really off your meds.

Calipari has been better than anyone. It's actually his downfall. We don't get a Devin Booker for 4 years. We don't get Ulis. We don't get the Justin Jackson or Meeks or Grayson Allen like they do. Cal sometimes does too good of a job of making players stand out.

If he would just learn to mix a few more 4 year players in the mix. Throw in some upper class guys with 2 one and dones every year. He would have more titles.
