I have heard several sports writers and personnel say Bobo is not as good a O.C. as Monken is but will keep Georgia rolling. I looked up his record and it seemed pretty dismal to me. I came up with 28-38. Someone correct me if that isn't correct.

I’m honestly not sure but I’m confident with Bobo. He did field some of the highest scoring offenses in GA history in his first tenure. Not sure how this works out today but he does have great talent to work with. Time will tell.

I’m interested to see what happens.
My take:
1) UGA doesn’t skip a beat (offense takes a small step back due to acclimating to new OC/system) Defense carries them to another 12-0 regular season.

-OR-

2) Bobo is a dinosaur and the dawgs look a-La ‘2019 with Coley and lose a game or 2 they shouldn’t on paper.

I’m hoping for option 2, but also realize TN is undisputedly the hardest game on their schedule. UGA will get up to play us. They always do.

I think your takes are pretty solid. It could absolutely go either way. And like you I’m interested to see what happens. I’m so ready for Fall to get here. We can get back into football and get on the other side of this ridiculous heat.🥵

Ugh, I wish I could experience a day of ridiculous heat lol. I live in WY and so far it’s rained just about every day since the start of May 😩

With all due respect to the current opposition, good luck. My mentality has to flip in order for me to overcome the previous tenures and start enjoying Tennessee Football, again. The last two years have reignited a flame that was a diamond cutter previously. Here's to not looking back, digging our feet into the mud and asking for more! Born in the backwoods!

Lol, I’m sure you’ll get a bit when the rain slows down. I lived in Canada for years and while I love the South, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t miss the cooler weather. It took me awhile to truly adjust to really cold weather, but you learn. Luckily for me I quickly made some Canadian friends that educated me that first winter. I’ve been back south a few years and I’m still not loving this heat and humidity.

I think this is spot-on. We will be behind UGA for a while I feel, even though we are closing the talent gap. As much as I hate to admit it, they are simply well oiled machine that is going to take a little time to slow down, and you’re right, they always do seem to play better against us

The fact you said dinosaur made me love this post.

Our best hope in the short term is that they continue to have players arrested and lose a lot of talent that way. But I’m sure Kirby will have them back for the tougher games.

It’s all a matter of how smooth the transition is from Stetson Bennett to Carson Beck. They’re in the same boat as us offensively - new starter who has been in the program for 3 years. By the time they see us in November, you’d think they’d have a lot of things figured out. It’d definitely be better if we’d gotten them at home earlier in the schedule.

It’s plug and play at Georgia at this point. Much like Alabama.

When you have 5* talent 2-3 level deep a coach can always look good. Take Pruitt - he was thought of as a defensive guru with all that 5* talent at AL but when he came to TN where he didn't have that his defenses were just ok. He didn't seem to know how to adjust his schemes to the talent level. Guess you don't have to do that when you have all 5*'s starting for you.

Defense was UGA's problem when Bobo was there before, not offense. His last team at UGA in 2014 averaged more PPG than either national championship team.

Don’t confuse Bobo’s head coaching record with his ability to call plays. They’re two completely different animals. Plus, the coordinators that usually get a shot at head coaching tend to go from a talent rich place to a place where recruiting is in the toilet.

Of course he will. Half of Georgia’s roster could be convicted of rape and murder but they would still play and the inbred obnoxious mutt fans would defend them and Kirby!

Georgia is loaded 5 stars all over the place and they just reload now. I just hope they aren’t as hungry this season and get a little complacent they could’ve easily lost two games last season and there is a reason no team has achieved a three peat in 86 years cause it’s damn very hard to do. Unfortunately Georgia’s schedule is very soft their two toughest games are on the road against Auburn and us. I would be shocked if they didn’t make the playoff again hopefully we can take them down in Neyland.
