Stafford’s OC at UGA was Mike Bobo, and they remain close friends.

Some may say Smart was wrong to hire Bobo, but it certainly helped Georgia bag one of the nation’s best high school quarterbacks.

I have heard several sports writers and personnel say Bobo is not as good a O.C. as Monken is but will keep Georgia rolling. I looked up his record and it seemed pretty dismal to me. I came up with 28-38. Someone correct me if that isn't correct.

Imo Bobo < Todd Monken. Bobo > Jim Chaney. Bobo is a very solid OC that will do well teamed with a dominant defense and a head coach that places a premium on stockpiling earth movers on the OL. Will he make the great calls in crunch time of games with championship ramifications? Who knows but that is where Monken cemented his status.

He is a downgrade from Monken, for sure.
But the list of OCs who aren't a downgrade from Monken is extremely short.
Bobo will not wreck the Ferrari.
It will be more informative to look at his offenses during his tenure as HC, rather than his W-L record as HC. His offenses were always very good, even when he was losing.

I’m interested to see what happens.
My take:
1) UGA doesn’t skip a beat (offense takes a small step back due to acclimating to new OC/system) Defense carries them to another 12-0 regular season.

-OR-

2) Bobo is a dinosaur and the dawgs look a-La ‘2019 with Coley and lose a game or 2 they shouldn’t on paper.

I’m hoping for option 2, but also realize TN is undisputedly the hardest game on their schedule. UGA will get up to play us. They always do.

If SC is still riding high, the potential struggle at QB could hand them a loss but I expect them to be pretty solid and rolling by the UT game.
