Some of us may be crashing worse than others right now. I was not among those looking for an Elite Eight or better if Stokes returns, as I don't expect a coach who's never coached in the NCAAT to take Tennessee deep in his first appearance.

Next year's team would still be decent without Stokes. They just won't be the NCAAT lock they could have been. We need a great recruiting class, or this team could become very bad in a hurry. That's my fear.

That might not be far off. Basically, that's what happened to Tyler Smith. He should have left after his sophomore year. The longer he stayed, the lower his stock dropped.

Possible, but I don't remember it. It certainly wasn't as big as splash as Smith. I don't ever remember Lofton showing up on enough draft boards where that was a serious possibility.
