what a weird argument.

glad it sounds like this isn't going forward.

I am not clear how states can still have laws on this when two federal judges have struck this down. of course I don't really know the process of what happens when something is ruled unConstitutional. is it just gone from all? Or does it have to be struck down in each state? I really don't know.

and then is it just gone gone, or do the states get a chance to fix it?

But asking someone why something is a law when they just said they couldn’t think of a justification and it shouldn’t be a law clearly explains you.

The whole thing is odd.
I still can’t find anyone even attempting to defend it. Even though it’s got bipartisan support.

Look, let's be honest. Pacer asked a rhetorical question... the answer is known, but can't be said because it is the 3rd rail of politics. The reaction you are having right now is the reason why we can't have an honest discussion about how this could happen in 26 states.

The only reaction I’m having is joy.
Calling people on their bs is something I regularly do for fun.

So.....why do the people pushing these laws claim they are a good idea?

I’m on record already many times in this thread.
I can’t find anyone giving a defense for it.
I’m not in favor of it and have said so from the beginning.

Ras says it’s “known” by you and he but you just don’t want to say.

So why do the people pushing these laws say they’re a good idea?

I’m not in favor of it either...but you can’t just squash opinions with demonization after that...

Let’s try this a different way.
I had never heard of this law before it was posted here. I think it’s a bad law but honestly not that bothered by it. I’m sure someone has an agenda but at this point I’m not sure who. I’ve looked at it briefly and there seems to be very little information in the form of debate or protest from either political side. I find that odd, as I’ve said several times, but again I’m just not that concerned about it so my research has been minimal.

You seem to be fired up about it. You started this by asking me a question about 26 states. That question had to come from assumptions you made about information you assumed I had. To repeat, I’ve not given it much thought and probably won’t give it much more thought so my opinion as to why or who pushed it will remain “meh, I don’t know “

Because you are very excited about this issue why don’t you explain The Who and why of your question to those of us who don’t have the answer?

I’m excited because of your name calling, demonizing....for questioning the origin of this ******** law...

I have zero assumptions of info you have...zero..

And of course there is an agenda here...it’s to prevent criticism of Israel and the stranglehold they have over American politics...not to speak of the Palestinian people...

This law, in 26 UNITED STATES....that prevents Americans from boycotting anything Israel IS the furthest thing from AMERICAN that I’ve seen...

Why can’t we speak or get into serious discussion about this?

If this is such a big deal to you then why haven’t you done the research?
You should be able to answer random questions you throw into other people’s conversation.

There’s absolutely nothing preventing serious conversation about this.....other than Appathy.

I’ve done PLENTY of research...

Some of it doesn’t put Jews/Israel in the almighty light...

If that is problematic or triggers you...then this thread isn’t for you...
