Unfortunately, I think Voltaire was incorrectly credited with that statement, but the point of the quote is still relevant.
Misattributed and misquoted quotation
The statement "To learn who rules over you, simply find out who you are not allowed to criticize" is often attributed to Voltaire, the French Enlightenment writer, historian and philosopher. In fact, it is based on something said by Strom in his program, "All America Must Know the Terror That is Upon Us" (1993): "To determine the true rulers of any society, all you must do is ask yourself this question: Who is it that I am not permitted to criticize?" The misattributed quotation continues to spread across the Internet.
Ahh ok, I see nowYou can't bleed all over the place about the importance of saluting the flag and singing the national anthem or any other random activity that goes on before an NFL game that has ZERO implications or consequences on our individual lives... yet turn around and have no problem with us sacrificing our liberties and wealth for another country's best interests.
I really dont see how hard it is to see the similarities
in the original article it lists two cases in the last two years where it has been overruled. U.S. Senate’s First Bill, in the Midst of the Shutdown, Is a Bipartisan Defense of the Israeli Government From BoycottsThrow the emotional garbage out.
I’d agree that on its face it appears unconstitutional. Regardless it’s been in place since 1979 and hasn’t been struck down. In my short research it doesn’t appear to have even been challenged.
Furthermore there doesn’t appear to be any debate on it and is bipartisan. To me the bad is obvious but I’d like to read some justification for it. At least to understand, or try to understand, the thought process.
The whole thing is odd

not at the fed level, but at least at some state levels. still not sure how this hasn't gotten more attention or made it to the supreme court
Answer the question...
You state there’s no support for this but why is it law, much less even being discussed?
Doubles down on stupid question
You got me.
I have no idea.
Again (you’re clearly not getting this so let’s go really slow just for you)
Should. Not. Be. A. Law.
No Reasonable. Explanation. Seems. To. Exist.
I. Can’t. Think. Of. One. Either.
Pacer. Is. Too. Stupid. To. Realize. I. Agree. With. Him.
Too recap.
Pacer is angry that I agree with him.
Lol
No one is angry but orangeslice...
I asked a simple question...that most can answer without demeaning, playing the victim...
Are you going to continue to deny that Jews/Israel have more power in this country than they should? Without getting emotional....or bringing up the Holocaust?
Have a real discussion...
