‘Wrecking ball’ to international law: HRW slams Trump’s support for Israel’s claim to Golan Heights

Human Rights Watch has slammed the Trump administration for promising to recognize Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights, describing it as sending a “wrecking ball” through the rights of Syrians living there.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to visit the White House on Monday, where Trump is expected to ratify a directive recognizing Israel’s territorial claim, despite international outcry that it goes against international law.

Yep. If you punch me in the mouth, dont cry that you lost your wallet when I was stomping on your head. Should have kept your hands to yourself, and minded your own business...rather than getting 2 more of your muslim buddies (Egypt, Jordan) to jump on me when i was just hanging out.

That’s what I thought. You have the same blatant disregard to international law as both the US and Israel does. The occupation of the Golan, West Bank and Gaza are all considered criminal by international law. Thieves...

Funny how you have blatant double standards.

Israel took those lands after defeating an enemy who attacked them unprovoked so they own those pieces of ground.

Double standards? Are you referring to the Crimea which was Russian territory for 200 yrs before it was given to Ukraine? The simple fact on that whole deal is that if the US hadn’t staged a coup of the Ukrainian government...it would still be Ukrainian territory instead of Russian..

Unprovoked? That’s really laughable...

Then explain why international law deems these occupations criminal?

Tens of thousands of mourners gathered in Brooklyn Tuesday for the funeral of a popular rabbi who survived the Holocaust and despised the internet.

Huge crowds were pictured in Borough Park for the funeral of The Skulener Rebbe, Rabbi Yisroel Avrohom Portugal, who died aged 95 on Monday in New York City.

Images from the scene shows with as many as an estimated 100,000 mourners lining the streets to pay their respects to the religious leader.

People openly wept as others climbed lampposts and crowds were controlled by a huge police presence and metal fences.

The funeral saw the whole area shutdown with road closures and blocks and shops not opened out of respect.
